Thanks... i love printing, matting, and framing. Viewing images on the screen just doesn't seem to do them justice most of the time.

I swear, everything you write inspires me to do something or another. Do you mat those yourself? Do you get it from an online place or a hobby store? Have a link to somewhere that shows how to do it? Want me to stop asking you questions?

I matted these myself. I bought a mat cutter a while back. I don't know of any links that have tutorials for mat cutting but i'm sure you can find some if u look via google.

The mat cutter I bought came with a video tape that shows the process. It's painfully simple to do (single mats). Double mats are a little harder, and mats with multiple cut outs are a bit harder yet.

I decided to buy a mat cutter when I figured out that it was going to cost me at least $20 per mat to get anything custom cut locally. None of the mats you see in these photos are cut to the store-bought 'standard'. I have never seen bottom weighted mats available in the stores.

I paid $120 for the cutter and this type of mat board is about $5 for a 32x40 sheet. The foamcore in 20x30 sizes is about $2. I didn't have to cut many mats myself to break even.
