Now that all the challenges that could effect "2004 stats" are done voting, I thought I'd re-run some stats for those interested. (Starting with "Action Shot" and going through "Classy Holiday Decorations").

. 3,586 unique users participated
. 24,601 entries were submitted (an average of 6.86 per participant)
, 121 challenges (an average of 203 entries/challenge)
. 5,955,389 votes were cast (an average of 242 votes/entry)
. 1,816 users (50.64%) participated in 3 or more challenges

The top 25 users who participated in 3 or more challenges based on all of their challenge entries (number in parenthesis is total number of challenge entries in 2004):

I'm not sure if there are any other challenge-related stats that folks might be interested in. I don't have any special access to the DPC databases; this information is all based on analyzing the challenge results.

Wow, Eddy. That's a lot of work. Thanks for going through the trouble. Stats are always interesting. Besides, I should probably take a screenshot, as this will probably be the last time I see my name listed alongside kiwi, heida, and DrJones!

Would it be possible to see a list of the photogs who entered every challenge in 2004? I think that they deserve recognition for being so active.

Maybe you should make some challenge suggestions... Butterfly Macro, B&W Butterfly, Color Butterfly Portrait, Metamorphosis...

LOL, I don't regularly have access to butterflies, sorry. ;-) I would love to enter more but if nothing really hits me I won't submit just for the sake of entering. I'll have one for Best of 2004 though.

Another approach: rank everybody who particiapted in 2004 by average vote received, even those with less than 10 entries. But if a user has more than 10 entries, only average their 10 highest entries instead of all of them:

EddyG - Can you put together a stat that shows how many of the 31112 users actually participate at DPC. Like 'how may' enters challenges, how many vote, how many do none of the above. I am interested in seeing how many of the 31112 people actually are still participating here.
