I have NEVER done this before - I usually keep all whining to myself on this site. BUt I came in from my trip last night and was just playing with some of my shots from Orange County when I came up with this one. With five minutes to go, I tried to switch it for my October Open entry, but didn't make it. I really like this shot, so at least I can share it here. Please say it is terrible so I won't feel like I missed out - OK? LOL Thanks!!

Oh Kylie...that really is a bad picture. I hate it. I can't believe you'd take a picture of something so boring. What were you thinking? If it were during voting I'd have to give it at least a 7, since it's so horrible. Probably an 8 just because my eyes hurt from looking at it. Jeez...warn people next time. ;o)

Sorry - can't find anything to trash it for. Great shot.

Cant do it, sorry :( I actually like it.

Good color and texture on the walls, good exposure and sharpness, good use of depth of field. I really like the diagonal formed by the flower pots and the curves of the floor and the arches, they all blend together so well and leads the eye nicely through the image. I would have scored it pretty high.

Sorry -- Can't trash this at all. It's simply beautiful. Where in OC did you find this spot?

Kylie - would love to help you out here and say I hate it, but I'd be lying :)

I hate to say this to you [since I know you want to here different] but I think it would of done fine. I really like the subject because of the texture within the walls along with it̢۪s color. The soft curves that make up the greater part of the picture look great with the embedded straight lines of the brick around the windows. The flowerpots and the colors of the flowers make the picture. Lighting, focus, composition, all good. BTW did I say the color of the ground is nice?

It is the side of a restuarant in the Irvine Spectrum. YOu could easily walk past it and never notice it. But I was just stopped in my tracks with the simple gace of the scene. Whenever I am in Southern California, I am never at a loss of photo ops!!!!!!!

Well, who am I am supposed to thank here? Those of you who were kind enough to tell me what a loser photo it is so I can feel better, or those of you mean-spirited enough to say you like it??? LOL!

This is one bad shot.... Bad color rendering, bad compo, bad use of the rule of thirds, bad use of perspective, bad use of size gradation to create motion... bad bad bad

Kylie, I'm sorry, it's just so good! That's one I'd consider buying a print of... right up my alley, and would have gotten at least a (gulp, sorry) 9 from me... at least.

Strikes me as a great 'set' just waiting on the subject to come along and make it a good photo.

Hey Kylie, good news/bad news for you: I think it's an 8, maybe 9, but I can't vote in Members Only challenges (yet), so no harm done, hmm? Really nice photo for all the reasons mentioned. Good luck with your real entry!

The fact that the pots do not line up perfectly straight is really annoying me. I'd give it a one.

I hate that damn photo! It must be the lousiest photo you ever took!

It is static and boring, has colours in it and funny shaped pots off to one side, I couldn't even bring myself to vote or comment on it!

But if I had to vote it would be -1

+10=9, and count yourself lucky you didn't enter it or it might have won one of those dreaded ribbons...then you would be feeling guilty about abandoning the rest of us.

That's my rant on your picture! Hope you enjoyed it, you deserve everything you got...cos you didn't enter it!

Good job. Oh, I was supposed to trash it. Damn, sorry can't. I left a comment.

Yup, it really sucks. That is one BAAAAD photo.

(I commented on the photo page itself last night when I first saw it. It's gorgeous.)

I was about to add it to my favourites and then I thought - this is totally crap. Trash at it's best.
(I have to admit I love the image)

It was so much fun reading this thread that it was worth it! Thanks people. You all turned a slight bummer (can't take any of this too seriously or we'll lose our minds or what's left of them!) and turned it into something quite happy. Gotta love DPC at it's finest.

I copied it onto my desktop, and promptly threw it away. It is officially trashed.

Trash this one while you're at it. I even like this one better! LOL
