I don't suppose it would be possible for SC to request political threads add [POL] before the thread title? If they're ever missed (new users, etc) I guess SC could edit the title accordingly?

Just an idea..

If it`s in RANT it`s a good bet that it`s going to be political...

Dont you think that they will die down of their own accord in a week? Certainly in a month there should be only a couple of thoughtful ongoing political discussions. Be patient.

No, because they've been going on a long time before the election, and aren't necessarily election related.

Yeah, like there's ever any "thoughtful ongoing political discussions." Riiiiiiight.

I think the political discussions will die down somewhat but will still remain at an objectionable level. They have pretty much hijacked the entire Rant section of our forums. I'd support efforts to further separate the mindless hate-mongering into a section all there own. It would be understood that nothing important to dpc was said there, and therefore no moderating by SC would be needed. Once a poster goes over the line dump the thread into rant hell and forget about it.

Or, if we could figure a good way to identify them, ban the political ranters from posting in all other forum sections thus separating them from the people who come to the site for photography.
