Which shot did you take that you feel should have won a ribbon?
Be honest... we all take fotos & think, heck, believe that it's gonna win a ribbon & then it doesn't.
Post your "I thought it would win a ribbon" shot here! Forget about how it really did, just post it!
Here are 2 of mine:

for the Portrait Challenge

& the Abstract Challenge

For Abstract:

or at least it should have been in the top 10. (Judge also by the number of favorites, despite the fact it finished 73 percentile, And see the post-challenge comments...)

I generally enter thinking my photo deserves a high score... but that's how it goes, I guess :) I thought my Defining Features entry deserved a ribbon... but it's below my average vote received. *sniff* These are the two I thought really had a chance.

I could put a few here. This one, I was sure, would appeal to the many as much as to the few. It had several thousand clearly discernible triangles in it too, and the challenge was 'Threes'. Ha, what do I know! It came in at 4.8 with several comments lamenting the lack of a perceivable tie to the challenge.

I thought this one was awesome. This was my photo for the pencil challenge. Would have won a ribbon if I were the only one voting on it. lol Strangely enough, it's not even my highest rated photo. My actual highest rated photo I don't really even like that much.

I haven't taken part in too many challenges yet, so at the moment I have 3 nominees:

for stop motion, mainly because it was just another water shot - but definately not another water shot.

for parts. Well, it doesn't really beat the actual ribbons, which I truely loved. But I think it's a good one. Basically because unlike what most people (well, commenters anyway) thought - it was NOT cropped, nor oversharpened. It was just a good photograph.
(and I'm going to reshoot it, trying to fix some lighting probs and blur the grass backgrounds just a bit more)

And well, my last one is still running for defining feature. Aparently it is not good enough even for the top 20, but it definately is one of the best ideas there ;-)

For me it was my entry for literalisms. It is my highest scoring and placing image ever, a 5th place and a score of 6.942. However, in that particular challenge I think it was placed well, I did prefer the ribbon shots over mine (if I become unbiased for a moment).

While I'm not complaining about my placement (it came in 9/186 in Off Screen Anticipation) this is just about as good as I know how to do. So since this one didn't ribbon, well, hope springs only so eternal...

It is too subtle a joy to ribbon here, tyt, but it did prompt quite a a respectable score, which, actually, surprises me, since it strongly appeals to me. Strange company, for a change. ;-)

Well, if you people had any taste... er, [LOL - JOKING!] I mean I think these two shoulda done better:

At the time I loved this image and with a score of 7.4 I really thought I was going to ribbon. That was a very disappointing result. I've learnt to never expect a ribbon even with a high score since then. Of course nowadays I see the flaws with the image and technically it probably doesnt deserve a ribbon, but I still like it better than some of my shots that did ribbon.

Maybe it didnt deserve a ribbon but I still feel like it was underrated with a 5.7. I've scored a lot more with images that were a lot less. I just like the conceptual abstract feel of it, or dare I say 'artistic'.

Oh, there are so many :) This is one of my favorite photos that I entered for the Cliche challenge. I haven't really looked at it for a while and I still really like it.

Another one that I really thought was a winner for the landscape challenge but it got marked down because some voters believed it wasn't a landscape.

At the time I really thought I had a good chance to score a 7 or high 6 with this photo for the shapes challenge.

Also yhought that this photo might've had a chance to ribbon, but then I saw the enteries.

Can't really complain though, scores were good for the amount of time I spent shooting them.

All my freaking green ribbons!

Don't think it should have been a ribbon, but this is one of the one's I'm really proud of, but it may just be my prejudice and understanding of the situation.

i had strong hopes for these

Rooster, I think this one is amazing and should have scored much better than it did, especially in an abstract challenge. It's a great capture.
