Sorry I guess its late? I just love the feedback...............bad or good?

The problem may be that you post a group of photos asking for comment/critique at least once per day :)

#1 - the color cast on her skin looks way too 'red'IMO. probably due to the environment.

#2 - Not bad... is this girl into junkyards?

#3 - the left foot position looks a bit uncomfortable... see #2 again...

#4 - I like this one a lot but see #1....

I like #4 best. The skin color appears too red to me as well. Also the eyes look a little funny. Fake eye color contacts?

I appreciate the honesty JM.....I will just let the families judge em from now on. I just kinda figured I'd get a better critique here, and I thought it was sorta for that??? But I will just use my own judgement
Thanks again

There is nothing wrong with posting for critique. The "Individual Photograph Discussion" forum is specifically for that... I just think that, over time and posting a set of photos for critique every day, people will likely start to ignore you...

'let the families judge'
'I will just use my own judgement'

So why'd you ask for critique? Seems to me John was trying to give you suggestions to improve them, and you're not open to the idea that they can be improved.

I understand! I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers, and I REALLY do apprecite johns comments. I just happen to shoot everyday, and the comments and critiques help me to become a better photographer. I just really didnt realize that I posted them too much. I wasn't mad about his comment, I guess I didn't realize that I posted too many of my pics?
And danny....I am very much open to the way they can be improved...thats why I post em?

I don't think you post to much! Not sure why some are bugged about that. I actually enjoy looking at the pictures instead of listening to the people whine and complain about everything and anything in the forums. I am getting ideas from your pictures so please don't stop posting.

Im not qualified to give you a professional opinion but I think you have some good shots. I do agree that that #1 and #4 is a little to red. However I think the eyes on #1 will be good when you adjust the red. My favorite is #4 because of composition and looks a little more natural. I like #3 because its interesting but her foot does look uncomfortable [however I would not of noticed that if it would not of been pointed out by jmsetzler who is way better at critiquing your photos than I am].
He does bring up a good point that someone can ask for critiques too much. [I probably post in the forums to much myself -lol] but you are welcome to post and ask for critiques as often as you wish. However you may not get as many replies. Maybe DCP need to make a forum for critiques request, then we could post all of them there. I can tell you are proud of your photography and want people to give you their opinion on them and that's ok. I think you are on the right track, trust your own judgment, I think you are experienced enough to know what shots look good. Have faith in your work. From my point of view you take well above average photographs that will be embraced by the model, their family, and most of all yourself. Good luck!

For the record, post all you want. I enjoy seeing yours and others work and reading the forums

I really enjoy seeing your work. I hope you will continue to post. People aren't compelled to respond so it certainly shouldn't be construed as an imposition. I think its kind of crumby that you've now been made to feel self conscious about showing your work. Thats seems a bit mean spirited.

Although JMs comments were a bit dry, it may have been meant as dry humor rather than the way it is being taken. I would give the benefit of the doubt.

Hope to see tomorrows work.

I do appreciate the comments sdw and sonifo....The comments just made me feel like I was a dpc pest??? I joined this site, and enjoy it so much because there are great photographers on here. Not just the run-of-the mill people. It is just kind of annoying how, no matter how trival, they find something to b**ch about? I was just looking for some honest and artistic views on them. I have just started my own buisness this year, and all comments and critiques just help me to make my photos better. Thats what I was hoping to gain from all the great eyes on dpc?

Hey parrothead. I like #1 and #4. I think some color correction needs to be done though. About posting pictures. I think it's great that you're excited about posting your pictures. Keep doing it, we all can learn more from looking at other peoples work. It doesn't annoy me at all.

Hmmm...I must be weird, but I actually like the color cast on #1. I think it looks good with the fall leaves.

I always look forward to seeing your work... it's absolutely stunning 99.99% of the time. I mostly enjoy seeing your work with kids...your kid portraits are always perfection. Keep it up. You make my day brighter with your work! :o)

I don't think JMs post was to be taken as a bad comment. And I hope you didn’t take mine the wrong way. People like you give me the opportunity to see new work [work that was not in a challenge] and it opens my eyes to different techniques, compositions, lighting, and etc. Please by all means keep posting. I have looked at most all of what you have posted and enjoy it.
YOU ARE NOT A DPC PEST
