Personally I'm terrified of "expert editing" and most likely won't enter one for a while. |

It is not required that you use any "expert" techniques. There have been images in the past that have placed highly in expert challenges using basic or advanced editing, as well as the many that have received member awards (Posthumous, etc). It costs nothing to enter - just sayin. ;-) |

What he said. I enter most of the expert challenges, and rarely with an image that's especially "expert" in the processing. I may mask something into a larger scene, but that's usually as far as I go. Or I'll mess around with flip 'n blends, fun stuff. I can't compete with the likes of Gyaban, Samantha, Judi, Sempermarine, or many others on that "major editing" field, and I don't feel motivated to take the time to learn what I'd need to to do it, but that's never stopped mew from ENTERING... |

Valid points to you both!...I might reconsider sometime, lol. |

You must not use it for much... I've have seen a similar screen on a mac just trying to use the browser...
They're all machines. They all suffer from entropy. |

Yep. This wasn't expert at all. Heck it was basic.

Ah, entropy, the ultimate horror! Maybe a challenge entry here â€Â¦
BTW/ I work the living tweedle out of my Mac. What a great workhorse â€Â¦ 16GB memory â€Â¦ 2TB disk â€Â¦ 12 processors. I could run a small country (or a medium sized war) from here!
I can't run email plus a browser on WIN of any vintage except XP which is now being clawed from our cold dead fingers!!
Death to MS. |

Hey Frakster, here's further proof that you don't need to be an expert to do well in an Expert challenge. My PS skills aren't that great but I got a TT in an Expert challenge with this. This was pretty straightforward. I just took a high-key pic of myself, which became the background. Then shot several different facial expressions. Applied more or less exactly the same pp to all of them, made them into a layer, put it atop the background layer of my bare backside, flattened and resized it, entered and eh wala. |

Finally, finished the editing for this Horror Challenge. Took me a lot of time in photoshop but feel satisfied of the result.
