I think I am pretty well rounded...

I enjoy everything from Pop Punk/Metal/Hardcore/Emo to Hiphop/R&B, including classical, and some country.

I really enjoy contemporary Christian music, and I also like classical, country, and some older pop/folk stuff. A lot of that older stuff is because i play acoustic guitar, and I can play those songs. Peter, Paul and Mary, Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver etc.

My favorite Contemporary Christian artists are Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercyme, Phillips Craig & Dean, and Ray Boltz.

I like rock, whether from US or UK.

Like Stone Roses, Alice Cooper, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Stranglers...the list is endless. Hate rap.

Also like ambient, enigma, Vanessa Mae, Bond, Marleen Klass, etc.

In fact I like all good music.

Judging from the collection of mp3 files here it looks like I mostly listen to oldschool punk, a little metal, and bluegrass.

anything by rob crow

I hate all and like 'em all. In the end it is always the artist who makes the difference. Just like photography. ;)

Edit: Prefer Live live live live, not CD-live or DVD-live or TV-live but LIVE-live.

Rock, Blues, Jazz & Classic. I also love the music of bands like Dead Can Dance, Enigma, Deep Forest & Sigur Rós. Maybe it's atmospheric music. Not sure what category they fall into. I sometimes do listen to heavy stuff once in a while from bands like Metallica.
I love guitar music. Obsessed with B.B King, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and the likes.
I am a big fan of Pink Floyd. I basically breathe Pink Floyd.

edit: How the hell did I manage to forget Hendrix? Well, it's a long list!

There's hope for you yet, Jeremy! ;o)

I love most country music, and listen to it most of the time, especially Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, and Keith Urban... but I also adore my 80s music like The Cure, New Order, Bon Jovi, Van Halen (either David or Sammy...both rock), Def Leppard, Poison, Ratt, and all those other big-hair bands, and then another part of me digs the 70s rock I grew up listening to with my older brother and sister like Boston, Journey (well, 80s for them too), Abba, Little River Band, Peter Frampton, Chicago, and other great bands like that. I guess that's a pretty wide range of musical tastes. I also like jazz, my favorite being Chuck Mangione (you really should hear "Children of Sanchez," because you'll be forever changed). I could go on for days about more music I love. Music is a big part of my life and it sort of "soothes the savage beast."

I'm a classical pianist... my favourite repertoire is Liszt, Rachmaninov and Ravel. Of course, I listen to a lot of classical piano music. I also play electric guitar... I grew up playing heavy metal, but I've mellowed out now into a jazzer. Favourite guitarists range from Steve Vai to John Scofield. I play jazz piano now as well. I also play viola (no jokes, please!)... so my musical taste is pretty varied. I have to say though that despite my passion for all sorts of music, nothing has bitten me quite like the photography bug, so my future plans are to make a living as a music photographer.
Oh yeah, I should add that I'm a huge fan of the world music genre which seems to cover a huge variety of music... it's South American, Far Eastern, and Eastern European which does it for me.

I tend to like opera and crossover classical... Alessandro Safina, Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Irish Tenors, Yo-Yo-Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Josua Bell, Charlotte Church and Sarah Brightman. I like Scottish, Irish, Celtic, & Folk Music. But being a child from the 80's I do love that Brit Pop, bands like Duran Duran, INXS, REM, U2, The Clash, Sex Pistols, etc.. I also like bands like Audioslave, Nine Inch Nails & Travis.

I absolutely can not deal with rap or country.

Mostly Art music... aka Classical... but that's not really a correct term. ;-)

:-)

Late Beethoven sonatas are my thing...
I have to confess to not being a huge Monk fan... but I do like Mingus, Trane, etc. My favourite jazz pianist is Oscar Peterson... my biggest jazz piano influence.

Anything but opera and country, but when Laurie comes to Michigan, I'll only play country! (Laurie you'll have to bring the disks...)
