tears

I viewed this and started crying as it reminded me of my dear departed father and how generous he was. We did not have much, but he gladly shared it with those less fortunate.

Thank you for sharing and rekindling some very fond memories.

I really do despise the advertising industry and the way it co-opts anything of value, whether it is photography, music or, as here, cinematic storytelling and technique, just to sell you something. Looks nice, has a sappy message, tries to sell you mobile phones - worthless in my view.

Sorry, bit of a bugbear of mine.

I generally agree- "Family, time with your mother, all made perfect by...Ketchup!"
Those are BS commercials trying to link the sublime and the ridiculous- usually inserting it right into the commercial itself, like a bizarre Hallmark greeting card.

Here, maybe it was because it was in a foreign language, and I read the part about "Communication" not in the context of a cell phone, I took the message in the video at face value, and I got admittedly choked up.

I guess the video touched me a lot more than I first thought as I did not even see the commercial... I guess one sees what they want in some instances.

I guess, just because i knew it was an advertisment, i kind of guessed what was coming. Even after the first few seconds i was supecting it would all be about 'Connection' or 'Communication' or some other buzzword and be an advert for a bank or something. That sort of thing is so common. I'm totally cynical and jaded about this sort of thing though so don't mind me.

Couldn't agree more this is total b***ocks.

It's a nice sentiment, but it's the commercial equivalent of Jonathan Livingston Seagull or Message in a Bottle or Love Story or Bridges of Madison County, it doesn't engage me at all. I guess I'm a dour old dolt.
