Not sure if this is the Mom or the Dad. Dad has a green band on ome of his legs. Can't tell from this shot. This is one of the parents at J Heinz NWR near the Philadelphia airport. They hatched one young that seems to be thriving nicely. I'll see if I can get a shot of the youngster sometime this month.

Uncommon and very irregular. Not a great photo. Sorry. Shooting in the deep shade of predawn. I only see these guys about once a month, so I'll submit this photo to the side-challenge now.

I'm not able to get to shoot much during the week so will post a bunch up this weekend. In the meantime, this is my friend Stubby Foot. You see that on his right leg, he has no claws. He comes to visit me a couple times each day on my balcony. He was just here.

On Wednesday I went out on my lunch hour to The Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary hoping to find some birds to photograph. I think they knew I was coming and they were camera shy! I saw numerous deer - even one that wanted to follow me- and a porcupine up in a tree but no birds! Not even the rare Canada Goose!!LOL

Later that evening I went to the Iroquois locks and hiked there, got caught in a hail storm but did manage to see the four birds above!

....Brown Creeper, Certhia americana

Only one new bird species today. It was highly ironic, as I spent the morning leading a RMNP bird walk. On the walk, we saw about 20 species. I'll go back tomorrow.
