Happened across this, and don't know if it effects anyone here.
Maybe you already know about it.. but wanted to post this just in case.

Affects me, sigh... Sometimes being first on your block, has its drawbacks.
Trying to find a time where I can tear myself away from my camera long enough to get it serviced. (Would be nice had they elected to just send me a brandy-new one, and call it even.)

Don't worry too much... I had mine done and it was relatively painless... Try to time it so you are sending it off on a Monday through Wednesday so it's only gone for 2 days... Mine was sent in on a Friday, so they didn't get it till Monday... I got it back Tuesday.

What I would really like them to do, is set the parameter that would allow me to use the hot shoe with the Night Shot. I've got an infrared head for a Sunpak 622 sitting here that could be put to use if the camera would let me.
Nothing like having a flash that is bigger than your camera. More power, arggh, arggh, arggh! |

Mine was a floor model, and is one that falls within the #s. I did pay only $799.
If given the chance, would any of you returned the camera rather than get it fixed?
I worry that there will be other problems down the road. I can return it if I want.
Did anyone take extended warranties? Usually I don't take them, but I'm thinking about it.

FWIW, if you have a problem with your car, do you sell it and get a new model? I think not. In my case, I am currently employed with auto dealer and we see cars in all the time. Seems like they keep breaking down. I have to say that if it is electronic, it will break. Gauranteed, but probably can be fixed and it will probably break again. I have good luck with cameras and with cars, so I am not worried about it. PS, I think extended warranties are great for cars, but i am not too sure on a camera. You have to look at the cost of repairs before you make that judgement.
