it is bad enough i had the time to do this, but even so, the results are not scientific...
5th most selected object (tie): pencil/pens, shoes, or remotes (9)
4th most selected object: keys (10)
3rd most selected object: toothbrush (13)
2nd most selected object: utensils (14)
and the most select object: flowers, vegetables, or fruits (15)
edit: oh, and btw, this challenge has brought out the best entries of any challenge yet! the overall quality was simply stunning! great shooting!

And they complain that I hang around this site too much.... LOL
Great list. Glad you did that, because what I've photographed so far for macro and for miniature DOES NOT appear there! Wonder if that is a surefire way to tell they will both bomb. ;o)

I tell you what, when you step back and look at your top picks after voting this challenge, it can be somewhat intimidating, trying to figure how to top these... |

well, isn't it all about having fun and learning? on one hand, if you aren't satisfied with how your shot is doing, you can always go look at what you think is a better shot and try to figure out how to do yours better. also, you can compare yours to others to see how you might make yours more unique (or you may be happy to find that 'great minds think alike'!). |

We're not complaining, just a little concerned that you have no life...

Interesting. Thanks for the count skiprow. I was getting the same feeling myself but haven't finished voting. It reminded me of the way I felt about the Advertisement Revisited challenge. There were a lot of photos of drinks in that one. You inspired me to go back and count 'em up. By my rough tally, there were 27 that depicted alcoholic drinks, and another 28 of non-alcoholic drinks. Guess we were all pretty thirsty that week. |

LOL. I had some ideas going in, and my curiosity got the better of me as when I saw my 7th or 8th toothbrush... |

Good point Grease. We are getting so good so fast that we will soon have to make the voting scale go up to 20 instead of cuting it off at a mere 10. |

If you did that you would have to learn to edit tan lines when you photograph her for the female medieval fantasy challenge when it comes around. :p

Sorry to hijack the thread, but has aynone else had some really hurtful comments from a new member that signed up on the 30th. I think the site council should have a chat to this little boy. Once again sorry for hijacking the thread,

Hey Pearcer!
I havn't noticed, but probably what you should do is pm a SC , point it out and let them investigate and handle it if necessary. Could start a big stink, discussing it in a public forum. But if there is something to it, they should and I'm sure will take care of it. :-)

Taterbug is quite right, it should not be dicussed in the forum and you would pm a Site council member to handle it.

Yeah, I've found that it really helps to look at photographs that I consider better than mine. I really like dpc because there are tons of great photographers here, and it's really fun & helpful to look at their shots & participate in challenges. Sometimes I will come up with two different ideas; one might be an idea that is very simple & possibly quite cliche, while the other is more creative, but could be much more complicated to actually capture. I've really learned that it pays off to experiment a little when taking shots. You really can't be too closed minded, and I'm working on broadening my horizons a little :) |
