It was real, it was crawling, it was in my HOUSE!
It is without a doubt the largest Black Widow I have ever seen.
Training it was the hard part. I failed. I had to keep coaching it with a pair of tweezers. Once, it's silk web stuck to the tweezers, and when I pulled the tweezers away, the spider came with it! I nearly had a heart attack, thinking it was attacking me!
For what it's worth, the spider is a lot flatter now!

You are crazy to play with a spider like that. I dont know if they are dangerous but it certainly looks it. Creepy! |

On a side note, it was funny in PS when it came time to save the image.
"Save for Web" YES!
LOL

Maybe that's why it scored 114/202 (44%)?
At least one person made it a favorite though!
See what I get for trying to do something absolutely unique here?
UGH!

Yeah, but you have to make it look smaller than it really is. ;-) |

Nah, using the same kind of spider would be redundant. What you need now is a Brown Recluse -- that way you will have used both of the spiders in the US that can be considered truly dangerous to man.

It doesn't look real in the chocolate entry. It definately looks real on the fork though.
When the silk stuck to the tweezers... I would've screamed like nobodys business!

Anybdy wants either of those two (black widow or brown recluse) I will go under my house into the crawlspace a grab a few for ya (better hurry before I throw in the "Death Can"). They don't bother me much...when I know that is what it is, but when ya get one on the back of your neck...let's just say it is hard to jump very high while on your knees in a 2 foot high crawlspace. I have lots of experience "playing" with these guys (and snakes) while doing landscaping.
