Welcome to DPC rant, Election 2004. :)
If you aren't interested (and I can understand why you might not be), there's an option in your preferences to not show rant threads on your front page. |

LOL! That's reason enough not to want their help in anything.
(No offense intended to any Europeans or David Hasselhoff fans. Of course, European David Hasselhoff fans....) ;) |

I was offended by that false characterization he made of me. |
So which bit would you disagree with ?
Do you favour distributing wealth more evenly, higher percentage taxation for the wealthy compared to the poor ?
Decentralisation of power ?
Increased state welfare programs ?
Increased UN controls over the US ?

Bump...cause I'm curious to see the answers to Gordon's questions. :-)
Also, Barack Obama gave a pretty good speech on Tuesday too.

If you are looking for some meaningless "Feel Good", maybe so.
They get a big zero from me.

Couldn't have said it better myself, David. It is all "fluff", full on inane comments like this:
"We shouldn't have two public school systems in this country: one for the most affluent communities, and one for everybody else. None of us believe that the quality of a child's education should be controlled by where they live or the affluence of their community. We can build one public school system that works for all our children. Our plan will reform our schools and raise our standards."
Yeah, OK. That's realistic. Sounds great if you want to "feel good".
Or:
"We shouldn't have two different economies in America: one for people who are set for life, their kids and grandkids will be just fine, and then one for most Americans who live paycheck to paycheck."
Yeah, OK. So people like Teresa Heinz, Bill Gates and Ross Perot who are "set for life" should have to give away their wealth? Riiiiggghhhhttttt.... Again, sounds nice in a "Ra ra ra. Go team go." speech and that's about it.
And it was really swell the way Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm "slammed" males when she made an analogy to asking for directions. Way to be PC there Gov. I can only imagine the public outcry there would be if a guy made an analogy to "blondes"...
I can almost guarantee that there will be no specifics in Kerry's speech tonight either.

Al Sharpton was good too - though Carter is still the most heartfelt in my view. |
