This is the official Team La Femme discussion thread for WPL 2011

We will figure out an alternate place for sharing and discussing entries. Other WPL Teams who stop in to see what's going on in our clubhouse are doing so at their own risk. Trash talk spoken here.

We'll move this here also...

Put what you like to photograph most and if you have a least favorite thing to photograph put that down.... um like maybe cows Maggie?? If you don't have a particular favorite thing that's okay. And even if 99% of your portfolio is people but you like to shoot architecture then say architecture. The point is what do you LIKE to photograph (or dislike)

When you answer quote this one and then delete the quote bars to make it your own. That will keep it clean and we'll be able to see who we haven't heard from

Who / Favorite / Least Favorite
Sheryll / Animals / None
Becky
Maggie / Wildlife / None (except cows)
Patsy / Landscapes / None
Alice / Nature / People
Terry

Today's get to know you question.

Tell us about your family.

For instance I am a single Mom with one son who is 11 years old.

You can go into as much or as little detail as you'd like. And if there is anything you rather not have in the public thread but, you want to share with the team then send a pm to us.

Yup, this is going to be a fun group.

Bio:
Done a lot of interesting and varied things so far including a fair amount of travel.
We didn't have kids, but I happily own to generations of honorary nieces and nephews.
Photography, all kinds of art and books & friends are my life these days.

That is too good Alice lol.

+2 - Sheryll, I grew up handling rifles and shotguns and am a deadly shot with all of them so I can be your back-up hahaha!

My Bio:

Born in the country in Canada 57 years ago, only girl with 7 brothers. I was a single parent raising my 4 sons.

I have 4 grand-kids - one of whom is getting married this September and is threatening with making me a great grandma at my tender age (ouch).

My passion used to be more varied but now watching old Sci Fi movies, eating too much pop corn, my dog Ceilidh and photography fills my life.

I live with my husband in Santa Cruz. We got married in a Native Community in Canada (Mi'kmag) by an elder on Jan. 1st, 2000 - just in case the world blew up. :)

Hey Ladies, I live in Northern Michigan with my friend, Tina. I have 3 grown daughters and 7 grandkids. I'm retired and lately I've been making some cool art out of driftwood that we collect on the beach of Lake Huron. I know....it's a tough life! LOL

Well as I said I'm a busy single parent. I have a full time job as an administrative assistant at a maximum security mens prison and a part time job as a teacher for Celebration Station at my Church. I retired from the Navy as a Master at arms Chief (a cop for those who don't know - paygrade E7). I take Karate with my son. (we're on a break for the summer) both of us are yellow belt rank. Very involved in the Boy Scouts where we go camping about every month. I was born in Texas, raised in Oregon and live now in Idaho. I've been to all 50 states and several countries (Australia was a favorite). I was in the Miss Texas USA pageant in 1989 (didn't win anything but it was WAY fun). Two weeks ago we went to Scout Summer Camp in Cody Wyoming. Before I was a Master at arms, I was an air traffic controller. I may be buying my first home very soon *eek* My female Guinea Pig just had 3 babies on Monday (all died) and then the mom died 2 days later. My 95 year old Grandmother is living in West Virginia. My younger sister lives in Portland Oregon and my baby brother is in prison in Texas.

I think that should do it for now. Oh and if you feel frazzled just reading my bio then welcome to my life...... that's how it is (all mixed up, busy and crazy, darting to and fro.)

So Terry what did you do before you retired? You're going to have to take shots and show us your driftwood art.

Maggie what's your favorite SciFi movie? What kind of dog is Ceilidh?

Alice how many nieces and nephews? and are any of them living with you? Where was your favorite travel destination?

whew I think I just threw up all over the keyboard lol..... and thanks for having my back Maggie.

Hmm ... I like campy Sci-Fi - like swamp thing, or the blob .. the 'special effects' really make me chuckle (but don't tell anyone that even though it was as hookey as they come, I shed a tiny tear while watching the swamp thing carry Adrienne Barbeau (sp?) off in his arms)

Ceilidh is the love of my life and the first small dog that I have ever companion-ed .. she is mostly poodle with maybe some terrier .. ppl refer to her as a party mix .. she is tiny and I rescued her from being a bred to death as her pups would be worth a lot of money (I spayed her) .. I always had big breeds - rotties or German shepherds that I enjoyed training to hand signals - I will post some shots of my tiny girl one day.

One other thing ... I was a member of a motorcycle 'gang' and still have my vest with my colors - we were call the Highlanders (big grin) I love to ride motorcycles and can't stand to be a passenger but will throw anyone on the back, no matter their size :)

You are welcome Sheryll .. funny thing, my husband used to be an air traffic controller too.

Whoa, Sheryll, you weren't kidding there, were you...That's an impressive work bio.\
navy: Good one! my guy also was Navy and with a combination of active & reserve duty, he got his 20 in.
Started as a seaman recruit and retired as a LCDR.
Honoraries? well 1st generation runs to about eight (+-), with second generation about six. The only entity that lives with me presently is VooDoo the cat.
Favorite destinations? All of 'em. The most unusual might be Siberia back in 1992, but India, Greenland, Iceland, Bolivia, Peru, Australia were fun and Europe was pretty thrilling at times as well. Now? I'm happy with California & the rest of the USA.

Okay, that'll do it. Sheryll, hope your keyboard still works.
