Timing couldn't be more perfect.
On Wednesday I leave to spend a summer working in Yosemite. Should be able to come up with something nice before Sunday!

What about us down under, our seasons are reversed, hope we don't get a load of DNMC because of that.

We probably will. If we do then I think it is fair to DNMC the Northern Hemisphere....! :P

I'm interpreting this as a swimsuit calendar and will be voting accordingly. Brownie points for gratuitous sex appeal. :)

Well we could...but more than likely our winter scene would be mistaken for a summer scene...in Winter where we are we don't get snow or rain...the grass is dead and gone...it gets bitter cold....rarely do we ever see a fog...maybe once or twice a year....whereas summer it is beautiful and green with long grasses and fat bellies on the cows and it rains...sometimes for too long and then we get floods. So we are topsy turvy to start with...that's what you get for living in a tropical climate.

"D ooo or a Stud Muffins calendar, like the boys from the local firehouse in color-coordinated speed-o's. I must remember to put on sunglasses before voting!

I can see Cats, Dogs, or Horses calendars. Or Cute Children/Babies. Or Cars.

I never buy landscape calendars. And will vote accordingly. Just sayin'.

So true, I went out yesterday to shoot for this, in the winter, and i could've easily come up with 10 summer shots, there is no rain forecast for who knows how long, and we have blue skies, You can't beat a Perth winter.

Um, you guys do realize this doesn't have to be outdoors, right? It's just something that fits the month. Take a photo of some red and pink hearts and it's February.Take a photo of a cooked turkey and it's November.

I am also on the outskirts of Melbourne. We have had hail and rain and wind here today. Great stuff! And it is supposed to snow in the Dandenongs overnight so we could have White Christmas in June! Just call it December and all is good :)

I am really sorry if people think this is turning more into an aussie thread!
I am from UK, Moved here (to Oz) about 2 yrs ago, The majority of people who will be voting/entering into this challenge are from the northern hemisphere and as such I will be submitting my image as a "northerner", it just feels right!

I have to guess that a crisp, clear landscape is going to have the best chance.
06/12/2011 08:16:51 PM · #25
With great trepidation, I have entered. I think any image that is well received that could be conceivably done in whatever month you choose, can do well. Drag out the Christmas or Hannukah decorations and do a cool still life for December, eggs or a bunny for March or April, etc..... (PS, I didn't do that LOL)
