Sorry, guys, but I´m not sure about this challenge. Equilibrium? Harmony? Perhaps, too abstract, don´t you think?
Please, I need your help to clarify the idea of the challenge... Thanks.

Wish I could help...I've got one idea, and I'm stymied on it. It's more along the lines of equilibrium, I suppose...but I think equilibrium and harmony both are part of balance. Good luck...I'm sure you'll think of something! :o)

I wasn't too sure if the theme called for literal balance (ie. a tightrope walker) or balance in the sense of photography (ie. composition) ..... So I incorporated both : ) err, not a tightrope walker per say. But rather both elements of "balance".

Ditto. My idea, though I haven't had time to shoot it yet incorporates both I think, partially because I wasn't sure what was expected. I imagine we'll be seeing some of both concepts... and a bunch that are tenuously connected to the theme and only the title clues you in.(butterfly balancing on leaf! cat balancing on table edge!) ;)

As I was out jogging this morning, I saw one of my neighbors out for his power walk.

I said: "Cream and sugar in that coffee?"

He said: "We need balance in our lives. A little excercise, a little treat."

If I had my camera, I would have snapped his picture and submitted it. At that moment, he wasn't really that photogenic (no shower, gym shorts and tshirt from high school which have obviously shrunk in the wash a little), but it would have been worth the 1s.

But, I believe that he understood the challenge before us. ;)

That's a cool quote

I'm going for the literal, I haven't taken it so I don't know how close to the "harmony" I can get.

A few challenges ago I did this;

This balance topic is rife with different approaches. The bicycle, tricycle, bridges, weights, scales. Dancers, tight rope walkers, a child learning the balance concept with its first steps. The balance of the elements: sky and earth, fore and water. Hey: the list goes on and on.

Well I know that my picture that I submitted...seems to represents different levels of balance. I hope I get higher scores than I usually do with this one. Also...hope not to get too many "does not meet challenge"

Hey Caba: that is a winner. It gets an immediate 10 from me.

There will always be some dimwit that thinks your entry 'does not meet the challenge', regardless of what you enter.

I am still happy with what I submitted. But here are a couple of other ideas I had..What would you have rated them?

my son playing on the jungle gym

And my husband actually trying to balance himself on the log over a waterfall we found about an hour from our house.. (yes in Kansas) just wondering what you all think about them as a what would have been "balance"
