Just submitted my shot for Balance. This is the earliest that i have ever submitted. I normally wait until the last momwnt. This means that i will be looking at it every day and will probably pull it at the last moment.
What do others do? Wait until you hae no option to pull it, or get it in as early as possible.

I submit as soon as I have a shot and keep working on other ideas. If I think I have a good one, I compare with the one already submitted and make up my mind. |

I always seems like I don't get a good idea untill the last day of submitting and then I have to rush to get one done. Seems to be working for me though cause' out of 7 entries I have two top tens and with the score I have goin in the Words challenge, I might have another :)

Go Bassie...Go Bassie...
I usually have mine in mid-week and brood about it until 11:59 pm before the challenge starts...but it all depends on what I click during the week! LOL I've submitted the first day, and for Words, I submitted four minutes before the deadline...but from the looks of it, I shouldn't have submitted at all! LOL

Yeah, you did good. The best way to go is to submit as early as possible and then go and improve on it, if you feel it needs it. This gives you time to relook at it in its proper reference. You look and look and relook and often an idea will hit you to make an improvement.
Late submissions are okay, but you leave no room to correct errors. |

Yeah, I usually get an idea, make it happen & submit it. Then I try and refine it or re-shoot it as time permits.
Usually backfires though, as the longer I look at it, the more bored I get with it - then I change it and find out after the fact that I should have left well enough alone.
Go figure...

I usually get a good idea right away, think about how to do it all week, then rush around and do it at the last minute. That seems to be an effective technique for obtaining consistent bottom-ten scores :) |

Last minute posting has its advantages. It seems the shots I have time to work on always get comments about having done something to them; mostly too much USM. But I am learning to keep it under control. My latest entry, Freedom II, is looking to be my PB and has become the first photo of mine selected as a favorite. With it I didn't get an idea I thought I could do until Sunday afternoon while replying to a forum thread about not having an idea. I didn't have time to screw it up, basicly just levels and slight trim of two edges to give it better balance. ( <-- had to add something to give a nod to the thread topic.)

Well this time around a photo came immediately to mind for the Balance Challenge... I thought of a picture I have from 2001 and would dearly love to duplicate the setting. It was one of those once in a lifetime shots. The horizon, boat, Willie & the Salmon all seeking their own balance. I post processed the picture for Willie and am posting it to my portfolio strictly for your viewing pleasure as I'm not sure which of the crew took the picture. It was an exciting time to say the least... The King Salmon weighed 63 Lbs. & Willie is about 6'5" for perspective.

Both, yet that is too limiting... I imagine that there will be a lot of Salt and Pepper Ying/Yangs, object's tetering on falling, good & bad, colors, scales... the blue ribbon will likely be something off the wall that embodies an unuasual yet obvious balance, captured in a cleaver way with lots of WOW!

Stop looking at it! LOL
You still have time to reshoot or re-edit, you know. Or you could have another beer and it might look better.
