Have we left out Fantasia and Fantasia 2000? Films built around the soundtrack there ... |

Disney's 'The Black Hole' - It added a great deal to the 'suspense' and 'near-horror' they were aiming for with that film.
Star Trek 'The Motion Picture'
Star Trek II 'The Wratch of Kahn'
Star Wars Episode I, II. IV, V and VI (Episode III will likely follow that vein.)
'Say Anything'
When I think of some more, I will post them.

Here's one that I bet almost no one has heard of: "The Conversation," a 1970's movie starring Gene Hackman, about a surveillance expert who gets an attack of conscience wondering how some of his tape will be used and if the parties he was spying on will be hurt as a result of his actions. GREAT movie.
The soundtrack is a hauntingly beautiful piano-based jazz score by David Shire. After I saw the movie, I went crazy for a few days trying to find a CD of the soundtrack, and finally did at some obscure web site. It's now safely copied to my iPod. |
