The camera I used was a .9 mp Kodak DC210! If I finish in the top 50 percent it will be a triumph of sorts. :-D |

Still no comments. The good news is, I got my new camera today. Nothing astounding, a Minolta Dimage F200. But it is a 4 mp model with aperature/shutter priority and other fun stuff. And it's so tiny and cute; perfect for taking everywhere.

Can everyone edit their post and provide an update please? : )
For some reason, my wildly fluctuating score (more then usual) has me watching the voting on this one very closely. TIA |

I did not get a chance to submit anything. I took many photos, but was not confident to submit any. I did vote on all of them and I felt that there were some pretty good ones. This was a hard challenge to vote for. I wish you all the best of luck!

5.50 still the figure I keep sticking at. Good for me. My Ad one fell a bit to 5.11 for the last day or so.

I thought I would do a lot better than I'm doing. I liked the picture a lot and all the comments have been positive, but I'm really stuck here in averagesville...

That said, CONGRATULATIONS!!! to all you guys with high scores. There are so many truly creative entries. I haven't finished voting yet myself, but I can see that I'm going to be voting fairly high on this challenge.

Haha, that'd be nice but I have my doubts. It's just strange though cuz my score seems to fluctuating full points between a few votes. For example, it may be 7ish. Then after a few votes its around 6. Then a couple more votes and its back up again. I've never seen this happen on my previous entries. Usually the score I start at finishes about the same. In this challenge I started at 8 and am now sitting at 6. It's been up and down like an elevator. Anyone else getting this? |

(of course the only 2 comments I have tell me "does not meet the challenge" I wonder how do you justify what is free and what isn't?

down almost 3/10ths of a point in about 10 hours. Although I have received more comments than normal for me this early in the challenge, they are all of the 'Wow, great shot!', 'Clever idea' or 'What a concept' variety -- but who wants those. :p <-- yes that is dripping with sarcasm.
I am a bit disappointed I dropped below 6 again, but I still have hopes of this being my first entry out of the 5's.

I started @ 8.5000 (after 2 votes)
then fell to low 6
now on the way back to mid to high 6
but haven't been in the sevens on the way back so you are safe from me C-town

Yes, free and freedom are different; but how do you show what is free without also depicting it's freedom and how do you show a freedom without also depicting what is free?

Hovering at 5.1034 in Freedom II.
Still stuck in 4.8 mode on Advertisement. (sure nobody wants to buy one??)
Oh well, there's still hope with Words coming out.
(Well maybe not. 6 months ago I didn't know how to spell dSLR)
At least I know I won't be doing a self-portrait for the Balance Challenge - equilibrium or a harmonious arrangement do NOT define me!!!
LOL

I thought outside the box. And outside the challenge. Meh, I still like the shot though. |

Still hanging just shy of 6.8 with 14 comments. I agree that the voting has been unusually erratic though, with about a 1/2 point range on mine yesterday. This won't be my high score, and it's probably too low to ribbon, but it's the only entry I have hanging on my office wall. ;-) |

Don't say that! You're not a 'sucky' photographer! I lot of folks who get lower than expected scores are not 'sucky' photographers. You just gotta remember that DPC taste is well... odd sometimes. Don't let a silly number diminish your enthusiasm :-D |

Mine's been bouncing around a LOT. I started out very high, fell down to the 5 area with a few votes, then climbed back up to low 6 territory... a few more votes and I was back down into the 5s again. I'm back over 6 for the moment, but I'm not expecting it to stay there. It's bouncing around close to half a point, which I find really strange.
I've gotten a lot of very nice comments though, so I'm happy :) |

Dont say that scalvert. Im at 6.5985 and i think this is going to be a low scoring challenge. i wouldnt be surprised if you were in the top 3 with a 6.8
