I just relocated from AZ. to NM. for a six month training assignment and today we drove to the top of Sandia Crest to do some sightseeing. I saw this little guy feeding and had to get his photo. I was happy with how sharp it came out since I was zoomed all the way in to 300mm and didn't have time to set up my tripod.
I'm looking forward to exploring some new photo opportunities here in NM.

Absolutely beautiful. I love visiting NM...can't imagine the photo ops you will have while you are there...enjoy!!!! :o)

Nice photograph Roger - that long lens is worth the money. My wife says this little fellow is a Broadbill juvenile...we have a number of them around our home in the central highlands of Mexico. Our primary hummer is a Violet Crowned although we have the occasional Rufous, and recently a single very large Magnificent. Please let us see more photographs from your area.

Maybe you need to toss the tripod? This shot sure didn't need it!
