For some reason, my cell phone has decided it would rather receive text two days after they were sent, instead of instantly.
It's a Motorola Krzr and the service is with Rogers.
It it an easy fix? I've restarted my phone a couple of times. |

Wouldn't it be easier to call the service provider and ask them? |

I just did, and it's fixed, no thanks to DPC. ;-P |

Had you waited for me to respond you would have seen that my response was telling you to call them. My response would have helped!
By the way, per Wiki your phone is 4 years old. Only fuddy duddies use flips these days. Time to roll with the touch generation... if you're cool enough. Maybe you're not... sigh... |

I have a fear of phone tech support. I usually end up speaking to someone in India, and the conversation centres on my date of birth, address, favourite colour, pet's name, mother's maiden name, account number, and many other strange security and identification topics. All which I find very boring.
Luckily, after a ten minute phone menu system, I spoke to a Canadian and she set me straight. Apparently, the K1 prefers to have texts sent to the phone memory instead of the SIM card. |

I have a 2 year old G1, the first Android phone on the market. Is that fuddy-duddyesque, or do I get early adopter cred?

Your advice was indeed the solution! But flips make me feel like Captain Kirk! WAAaaah. :-( |

Motorola does make touch smart phones (I have the Cliq). You could secretly keep in touch with your Trekkie side while making your move into the "Next Generation." |

But then the problem is that I live in Canada, where we are charged an arm & a leg for cell plans, so I only use it for voice & texts. Stoopid Canada. |

You've never made that logo connection before? I thought it was obvious.

I never paid it any attention. But now I'm going to speak like Captain Kirk whenever I'm on the phone, for sure! |

I like this feature. It would train folks not to send me text messages! Can I configure my phone to do it, too? |

Nope, but you can ignore them for two days before responding... :) |

I had an interesting situation yesterday. I got a phone call from my Canon rep saying I sent 3 text messages to him yesterday.....he even read them to me. But...they weren't from me nor was there any record of them on my phone. At the time of sending them I was alone and no where near my phone.
Now that's bizarre.

You might want to look at your call history online and make sure someone didn't clone your number onto another phone......

Don't do it, Slippy! He's trying to lead you down the path of feeling stupid.
I just got the latest and greatest (free upgrade)... and now I can't even make a call... much less text. *sigh*
