Good idea. I recently left WB on incandescent lighting and took a very interesting set of 3 bracketed shots outdoors and the colour was way off in different ways.

I'm tempted to say cropping should always be allowed; not all subjects lend themselves to commonly fixed ratios. Shooting to a fixed ratio is a challenge in itself.

I agreed with/to that idea. Ms. S. had appended a comment which pretty clearly (to me) was a suggestion that the Minimal Rule be permanently revised to allow cropping -- I don't think that should/will happen.

I would love that proposital mess! heheh!
I would be a tough work for my head though! Sadly i'm not a member anymore, i wish they could create this one for non-members.

i never get my white balance correct. and now that i have to deliberately get it wrong, i hope to get it right. :)

Man, I love it when these threads take on a life of their own!

FWIW, I think cropping should be in all the rulesets, for various reasons given already - see Bear's latest post re viewfinder coverage - not just this challenge which pretty much has Minimal written all over it.

I'm simply touting for cropping, because I've never seen any reason to exclude cropping from any ruleset, let alone Minimal. This forum is in part a platform to continue pressing for cropping.

isnt that why we shoot in RAW :)
