Seems I have a lot taken in and around my house, thats a full time job and single parent for you. This is I think the closest off my property, taken on a parallel street behind mine about a mile away. 
The furthest as of right now would be one taken in Yorktown about 200 miles away.

I have dozens of entries shot more or less the same distance from my home, and bunches and bunches shot on my actual property. Leaving out the "47 Steps" entry (too obvious), I'll choose the one of those dozens that got me a blue ribbon, about half a mile down the road:
For farthest-away entry, I have several from when I stayed at Charliebaker's place in Cannon Beach, Oregon, in September, 2006 รข so here's the highest-scoring of THOSE, shot from the bluffs above his house:
That's a 3,250 mile spread...

Closest: Footpath in front of our house (council or crown land)
Furthest: Madrid Barajas International Aiport
That's 17309 kms (10755 miles) according to the Google Maps Distance Calculator.
ETA: That's only ~2700km from my homes antipodal point (in the Atlantic near the Azores according to this)

Can't compete with  vlado as he beats my distance X 10 but,
Closest:  Local park only a few house lots away.
Furthest: Caloundra, Queensland, 1741 km. or over 1000 miles.

Ahem...maybe as the crow flies....but I went Emerald to Brisbane (1000kms), Brisbane to Singapore, Singapore to London, London to France, France to Switzerland, Switzerland to Italy, Italy to Greece....that's a lot of travelling to get a shot of a pelican!!!

Ahem... impressive... but if that's the criteria by which one was to measure "furthest from home" a photo you took on your return to Emerald would be about 35,000km "from your door", wouldn't it? |
