Beautiful! Those are going to be works of art after tiny touch ups. (flys and such.) I am jealous too. |

All of them are wonderful but the expression in _E2O1275 is priceless. Well done.

Some of those are truly wonderful - you've captured expressions and detail so well. I think a few could really do with a little dodging and burning as they are a little too dark - and in a couple the detail of the eyes etc are lost. I had the same problem with exposure because the sun was so bright. Really nice pics, thanks for sharing!

thx everyone for the positive comments, I agree they could use some post processing and dust removal, having taken over 6000 photos while gone tho, and being terrible at PS I may be dead before I edit them all, I am in process of some kind of sorting and priority thing, but I got a ways to go still.
We were actually at the village at high noon on a very hot bright day too which did nt help most of those shots were shot metered 2-3 full stops down. All on L100-400mm lens

We had the same problem with the strong light too. It's hard to capture details in the beautiful masaai skin tones without blowing out the background. I was intending to include a couple of my masaai pictures in my charity sale but I wasn't happy with my post-processing.
I know your problem re finding time and energy for processing through all those pictures. I took over 3000 on the long trip to Africa in May and June and have carefully been ignoring them even though I really want to get them sorted - it's just such an overwhelming task isn't it?
When are you hoping to get back to Africa? I did warn you that once you have visited you'll never cure yourself of the Africa bug.

I am aiming at trying to get 2 groups together one for july 05 and one for october 05, picked those times for the migration/weather ect from what our guides told me. I may have to move there someday. You are certainly right that something magical happens to you there : ) I would be willing to add a couple of my maasai shots to your sale for conservation once i get them edited if you would like, let me know. |

Lynn I'd be thrilled if you would put a couple of your Masaai portraits on sale as part of my project. Absolutely thrilled, thank you!
You're a member right so let me know whether you'd prefer to put them up in your own prints area or under mine. If it's mine we will need to make sure we spell out clearly that you took them, not me and link to your other prints too. I don't mind which way so just let me know.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
TWO trips in 2005 - now you know why I'm so obsessed about my safaris!!! Wish I could join you but I think 2005 and 2006 are going to be focused on other parts of the world, also on our destinations wish list...

I uploaded 3 shots of maasai women (under review at my dpc prints) I am not sure how the best way is for you to combine/link get profits but they are there and available for you, let me know what else I need to do. hopefully the editing turned out ok, let me know if you have any criticisms. |
