I have a dilemma (sp?). I have a members juried (one person) Fine Art Exhiibition coming up (submit by 11/05) and am having a hard time trying to decide what to put in. I can select up to 3 to submit. Little help would be appreciated.
The juror is Vered Galor (her work is here). She seems to like the painterly type of work, but ya never know with judging it.
These are the ones I am pondering. Any input is a bonus. Thanks.

Your Message Here - your strongest composition
Worship - your best exposure
Touching - your most unique shot

Of the nine choices you present here, none, IMO, are compatible in terms of genre and form. They could, however, well be seen as representative of different ways of seeing and taking pictures.

I'd probably choose the three above and formulate my reasons for doing so.

I'd go for "Crumbled Dreams II" and "Your Message Here" and "Fall Sumac Leaf". However, the last one, which is the most painterly, needs a bit of a sharpness tweak IMHO before going with it.

For fun, try this, I think you might like the effect on that one:

1) Duplicate the layer
2) On the top layer, apply the dry brush filter with as much detail as possible and the smallest brush size. Dont panic.
3) Lower the opacity of the top layer to 13% or so.

It will give your shot a sharper more painterly feel without making it look like it was done by a filter.

Fall Sumac Leaf
Sleeping GIANT
Your Message Here

From the choices you have provided, I think that showing the diversity of your work may be one of your primary intentions for this exhibition. In terms of subject matter, these three would be my picks.

They are going to be "pre" juried to be accepted. they don't have to be related or anything. They are juried individually and not in order. Thanks to all so far. Still a hard choice.
nshapiro-going off to check that out.

I have to agree with Tuckersmom, these three are arty, colourful and slight abstract.

All are worthy of wall hanging!

I think I'd disagree with ZeusZen on using 'Touching the void'

It jumped out at me as the least original shot - mainly because the original 'bodyscapes' work I've seen did strike me as original - so copies stand out more. If the 'judge' has seen that work, then you'd suffer for it, I think.

Bodyscapes (not work safe)

not to say yours isn't a great shot, but I don't think it would do well.

Whatever you choose, my advice is black and white. Go black and white. Color is a taste thing, but I don't know anyone who isn't attracted to a good black and white shot.

In light of this, I admit I have to disagree with myself.

I'd say definitely worship in the rockies, but flipped horizontally, and with light borders from too much sharpening removed.

I have touched up the Print of this already (a few times) and got rid of all the MAJOR halos. The challenge submission won't update.
Why flip it horizontally?
-Gordon-yeah...that is where I kind of got the idea from. Was at REI and saw the little dude , and that work came to mind. I orignally had another idea for it, but still involved a figure(ine), but didn't have a female...and yes, the idea is tasteful. Gonna save that one, for some other time. (C:
