I entered these...


...but didn't get picked to show during the fair (only 1-4 get to show). BUT... both entries got 10th place in their respecive categories, so that can't be all that bad...considering there were HUNDREDS of photos submitted! Overall, I'm pleased because it was a first attempt at something on such a grand scale. Just thought you'd like to know. :o)

They are both great shots, but I guess it depends on the audience that the pictures are aimed at.

This is the Texas State Fair? How did you find out your placement? I entered 2 images and would like to know how they placed.

Got a letter today... it was in my mailbox when I got home a few minutes ago. Run to the mail, now!!!! :o)

Laurie , your photos are EXCELLENT ! "Summer at the farm" is simply wonderful and "Jazz" is one of my DP favs . CONGRATS ! And thank you for sharing !
By the way I hope you'll continue the serie of mills , very interesting IMHO.

Good for you Laurie!!

Even placing in the top ten is a HUGE acomplishment!
You ventured and came out well, better than all those that din't enter, and better than most. That is a major win in my book!
(I have a really big book too)

Guess you can't see my feet right now from where you are, but they are doing the Happy Dance for you right now!!

Your prize should be going out soon too.... hehehehehehe

Well interestingly enough, I got 10th place on my entry for black and white rural:



and 10th place for my black and white entry for children:



Congrats Laurie we'll get 'em next year.

That's awesome, congratulations!

Ya know, I would like to see what could possibly have beat that watermelon shot though. That photo is just outstanding.

Congrats, Laurie! They are both great shots. I really love the boys, though. Great choice for selective color. Well done. You should be very pleased. You placed very well, especially when you consider how many you beat out! WTG!

Well, I still haven't received my letter so I called today (since we have to pick them up today or tomorrow) and I didn't place with this picture:

Animals/Domestic Category


But I got 1st place with this picture!!!!

Children 2 or more


I can't even believe it! I am so thrilled!

Congratulations to Laurie and Danny too!
