I quite like the 'mood' of this shot and would be interested to hear your views. I'm in a good mood tonight (revealed in a later post) so you won't hurt my feelings :)
Thanks

Thanks rooster but unfortunately no, advanced editing was done and it is so much better than my entry.

that's too bad. It's a really beautiful shot!. Reminds of something out of the LOTR!

The rich colors make this a pleasure to look at.
Now for a totally unrelated question. Do you know why your name shows up as ecce signum when you post, but looking at the community list on the right, you just show as signum? For awhile, I thought you had an alter ego posting after you did. |

Thanks Pat, I did think about trying to replicate this with basic editing but a couple of attempts proved fruitless, will be kicking myself all week I'm sure.
Where exactly do I show up as signum? I can't see it on the 'last post' bit or the online page. You got me worried now.

Thanks for the comments all :) I tried to get the fairy tale type of mood and guess I did ok?
As with all fairy tales there is reality so here is the original ...

This is a great exaple of how photoshop and other editing tools can help us photographers achieve a vision that looks nothing like the original photo. The original is a decent photo but nothing special. After the work done, however, it is magnificent. Great work! |

yuh, i love it. shame you can't submit it to the backlight challenge. :(
PS. Was it shot through glass of some kind? cause there are some wierd textures to the left of the horses face and some other spots (in the original)

Ah, the backlight challenge, if only - it would surely have been my best score.
Was shot through trees and bushes, I see what you mean about the 'strange' bits now, it reminds me of my bad cloning days but I don't do that anymore ;)

I love the original. Great photo and lighting. Colors look very true. (Beautiful horse, btw.)
Sorry, I don't care for the ps version. Can't explain why, though. I guess it just seems too dark.
Adding: As usual, I'm in the minority! :D Might explain why my average is dropping instead of climbing.

Thanks for all the comments and it was actually added to 3 peoples favourites lists last night, thats better than a ribbon for me! Well, ok maybe not but its a start.
Thanks for the comment on my 'evolving' photography Rooster and Marj, I fully understand what you mean about your preference, I quite liked the orig as well :)
