I just expected some awesome shots for fairy tale....but after looking at all of them..I was dissappointed! Anyone agree?

I agree, I was especially disappointed with the pictures of toys and figurines. I find that a little unimaginative. Does anyone else share my view, or am I being harsh? |

I should have submitted one of my outtakes. I think the photo I submitted is my favorite photo I have submitted to a challenge here yet but the score isn't reflecting the lofty idea I had of it. Ironically, I actually liked some of my outtakes much better but I felt they looked too photoshopped so I chose the one I did because I thought it had more natural photographic appeal. I look forward to sharing my other shots from the shoot when the challenge is over. It will be interesting to see what everyone else thinks.

I didn't enter--partly because I'm just back from vacation but also my camera is now broken--but I saw some that I liked. I was thinking about it today, and I think it was a hard one.
I give credit to the imaginations of all who entered. |

I agree with you all. I didn't submit because I couldn't think of anything (I don't have a lot of creativity). So I thought the best would be there with so few entries. There were some good shots, but the toy figures looked a bit tacky. Just my opinion. :) |

I really thought I had a winner for this one. But I'm getting super low scores so far, I think my entry takes more than a few seconds to find what the title suggests. Oh well, back to the drawing board. |

I am also disappointed with my score so far, but it is early. Let us not give up hope (no pun intended).
Also, please leave some comments everyone. I am receiving my personal best on the hope challenge, but because it is what most would see as a middle score I have received only two comments. Thanks. |

I was only 70% happy with my submission in the first place.. so to see it hovering at 5.25 with 28 votes is quite encouraging!
As for being disappointed in the entries.. *BAH*! There were some *awesome* submissions.. and some very *nice* submissions in the 5-6 range (of my votes).. and some of the toy shots were actually well thought out.
I've just heard enough bitching lately.. so I say.. Congratulations to *ALL* the submitters! Let's keep it up!

I do agree that a few are well thought out and well taken, and I am scoring those accordingly. |

I wanted to enter and had a great idea but couldn't do it with my supplies ... but I have to say that, after voting, this was just an okay challenge. I was expecting outstanding shots here .. but only saw 2. I'm sure I've pegged the winners. Good luck to everyone :)

This was a very tough challenge, it stumped me for an idea.
Congratulations to all those people who entered, some great idea's are amongst them.
My main concern with the entries is that the challenge asked for photographic evidence that the fairy tale characters existed, I think many missed the mark on this one.

Well.. I mean.. come on. What extent do you want to take a translation of that wording? How literally?
I can't imagine any of us actually going out and getting *real* photographic evidence of fairy tale characters existing :)

What I mean is a lot of entries didn't attempt to address the challenge, quite simple eg toys. |

I totally agree. I didn't submit for lack of model.

I really wanted to enter this one, as it seems right up my alley, but I decided to let it pass since I couldn't come up with anything worthwhile, and I had no models to pull off the ideas that might have had potential. Haven't looked through the entries yet, though. |

The trick would be to make the toys look fairly realistic. If I were able to vote I wouldn't vote lower simply because they used toys or figurines rather I would because the toys were cheesy looking. I agree though, there were quite a few entries that didn't address the challenge but then again aren't there always? |

My feeling about this particuliar challenge was that it required "more" work and planning then other challenges... It would've required more time to make some elaborate and 'quality' shoots. That's how i felt looking at my idea for the challenge.

I spent an hour shooting mine.. and in the end, I simply couldn't get what I *wanted*.. so settled for the best of what I had..
Which is how it goes sometimes in this field.

I agree with this TechnoShroom and did vote as you suggested. The toys were just an example. |

So far this is the lowest average challenge i've voted on. Basically anything that didn't involve setting or effect that brings out some sort of 'fairy tale' elements to it didn't go pass 5 :(
I felt like 'Hope' all over again (and i ain't better for that challenge, really). Lots of shots of animals which barely made any connections to the challenge, at all.
I'm very glad some shots had smoke, lightings, bodypainting, props and nice gazzy or dreamy effects. Those got very high marks, while the others just sunk way down.
