| Hmmm, looks a lot like the 10d. Interesting to see an EF-S lens on it. |

| Just a stupid question, why do any of you 10D owners care about an on camera flash? I was kinda hoping for a complete removal of the on-board flash. I mean, if you're spending that much on a body only, what's $200-300 more for a decent external flash? |

I have not one used the on camera flash! And the 550 is about 400 bux, but worth every penny!

I was just noting the difference. I almost never use flash. I'm still fairly new to the whole SLR thing so I haven't invested in any external flashes. Working on learning other aspects of the camera first. Besides, I have other things on my wishlist. :-)
Edit: Noted the difference because I've heard others complain the flash is low.

I agree, that little POS excuse for a flash would be better off gone altogether. I have used it exactly once, saw how crappy the results were and never have used it again.

| I;ve never used the on camera flash since i have a 550! However, I wouldn't sell my 10D for this, seems like a upgraded 300D not an upgraded 10D |

No one knows for sure but this is the most convincing pic i've seen. The back pic shows the most changes. |

It's a very nice convenience to have on the camera when you want to shoot a flash shot. I don't know about every other 10D owner, but I shoot a lot of simple snapshots and that flash is an extreme convenience and I would hate to see it go.

| While the oncamera flash is certainly not as versatile as the 550 flash which I just bought, I have learned to use it. You can adjust the brightness of the flash on the camera to add just a slight fill to a flash that is usually too much for the kind of pictures I am trying to do. I have to make similar adjustments to the settings with my 550 flash, but I only bought it a short while ago and so I am still learning to use it. |

The flash isn't just for low light situations, I find the on-camera flash even more useful in bright daylight. It's great for fill lighting in backlit situations and it's great for adding that extra sparkle to a subject's eyes. That includes wildlife photography where adding that extra catch light to the eyes can really improve the photo.

Ignorong any discussion of the 20D in particular ....
I very very seldom use the built in flash, but would absolutely hate to see it go.
Sometimes I do not want to lug additional equipment about, maybe if I am just out an about with friends, at a party maybe. I just want a small lens on the camera and slip it into the smallest carry case I can fir it in, a small snoop (snoot, whatever) bag. In these instances, typically for snapshots, I would not want to have to ahve a larger bag for the external flash, or have to attach it when I go to use it, and then oops, no longer fits in the bag again.
I think the built in flash has it's place for snapshots at the very least.

Did anyone else notice that EFS 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM??
I wonder will it be a kit lens? (oops. here i am... starting rumours...)

I was just going through the Canon website and in the product search they are showing an EOS D2000. Did they have that before? I've never even heard of it.

It was one of the first dSLR's from Canon. Very expensive.

They hve also announced the G6 as well. That is prolly going to interest the non-slr crew.

Well, the 20D is nice and all, but the 10-22mm lens is more interesting, IMHO. It is very clever little lens, both technically and market-wise. It is an EF-S lens, so you have to get a whole new camera for it, if you don't own the 300D. I would like to know its price and performance. 16-35mm eq. focus length, it would almost be worth it to get a 300D just to use it. (Yeah, and I have a money growin tree in my yard!)
