Just editing a few of my older pics, I am concidering this as a print.

Comments please,
I am particularly wondering about the foreground pole.
Thanks,
Paul.

I think the foreground pole actually makes it more interesting and puts everything in perspective. I find the flag a bit out of place in the composition especially since the red sticks out too much.

I look at this photo and wonder which particular element you would consider to be the subject. The pole in the foreground is somewhat interesting, but what purpose does it serve? It feels like a lone element of the image and I can't particularly put a finger on its relevance. I see a smaller composition within this larger one that looks like it could be higher impact than the image as a whole... maybe you can find it :)

I don't much care for the pole, but the rest of the print is awesome. Beautiful capture! ;o)

I reckon pole no flag is the way to go. imo the pole really adds to the overall image, great shot.

Interesting comments, I deliberately took it with the pole in the foreground to give it some depth, the flag never crossed my mind.Unfortunately it was part of the boat.I will have a go at losing both the pole or the flag.
John, I am not quite sure what you are hinting at, maybe the jetty on its own or even the pole on its own ?
Problem lies in cropping, not the best conditions for a crystal clear shot and cropping increases the noise etc.
Thanks guys,and gals.
John, I'm waiting :)

Cropping isn't the answer. It would require reshooting it.

A little too far for the reshoot John, but I know it is a regular occurence on the lake in question. I have learnt a lot from my last trip, wish I'd done this and wish I'd done that, we have all been there.
Thanks, I would still love to hear your suggestion,
Paul.

This would make a good jigsaw puzzle.

I've tried getting rid of the flag but with all the variations in the water it is just too complex for me. I think I'll dodge the sky slightly and go with it, what do you reckon?
