Perhaps, but was the person wise enough to remove all the cookies? Or to have not used more than one browser, opening more than one account at the same time? It's amazing how silly some people are when they are doing things they should not be doing.

I welcome the recent actions by the SC to remove and send out email to those that violate ToS and have multiple accounts.

A big tip of the hat to Club Juggle, GeneralE, and all the Site Council members for uncovering the bum and dealing with him decisively. It's very reassuring to know that you are on guard for us. Thanks.

I simply don't see the point! Its not as if there is money involved or something like that! Its just trying to beat the system and I suppose we the members would be the losers in the end.

What was he or she thinking? Yeeps! Makes me wonder what joy there can be in winning by cheating. Don't get it at all. It's not like the winner gets an award or anything... confused!

My question, then, is this: How can you distinguish between someone who has multiple accounts and people who simply share subjects and/or computers?

This is a good point. My wife and daughter have accounts on DPC, use the same camera, the same computer and browser. My other daughter will be signing up sometime as well.

I would really hate to be flagged as a cheater on the basis of 4 people with different accounts sharing the same resources.

In this case, it was very obvious that it wast the same person. Not sure what his/her motive was, but anyway.

Another thought on banning for a period of time. Theoretically, by 2005, this person will have lost interest in the site and won't bother coming back.

It seems to me that this person may have had more DPC accounts than they currently have friends. The words 'life', 'get' and 'a' spring instantly to mind.

Now then - where's my update button... and I wonder who's shots are in the favorites... oh, and I really ought to write a tutorial on 'How to avoid winning a ribbon after 79 challenges'... :)

Why would someone want to create so many accounts and go through all that voting just to win a challenge? I mean, it's not like we get $$$ for winning! And this person never even hit the top 10 so how was he/she (one human) going to alter their score with 3 or 4 votes?

That is very silly and ridiculous!!! :) I am glad i have a lot more things to do with my energy and time than vote on the same photos over and over! wow...

Andre' and I share the same computer and he has my old camera...I hope that doesn't flag us as well... that would be bad.

I been busy with the youngens and my daughter has been participating here, we share the same computer too, Oh yeah occasionnally my husband throws a picture in so he can have something to give me a hard time about, :) its pretty neat sharing a hobby or interest with the whole family gets us talking more and bonding too... Surely honest situations will go farther then the dishonest ones. Cheating takes all the fun out of it, I hope theres noone else doing it.
