Barney's magenta! And I know of no one in my age group (most with children) who like that over-stuffed, general-domain-song singing, excuse of a dinosaur.... |
Barney's purple and that's final!!!! ;) Ohhhhh, this challenge is going to be sooooo fun trying to define what purple is and isn't......just remember have fun and be creative....Now how about Elmo? Is he red or orange? |

Woohoo, I had a stroke of creativity (and believe me they are few and far between) and submitted my photo for the purple challenge. I think I was about the 3rd entry. Let the good times roll.... 4.5 city, here I come! |

It is hard for older folks to except something or someone so kind hearted, but children love him unless told he is stupid. :-) [/quote]
Ahhh, i don't have a problem with him nor do I tell kids that he is stupid...good point.....Glad that kids have something pure to watch...heck, i'll sit down and watch Mr. Rogers and wondered how did I ever watch him as a kid...However, it was sad to see a good man pass away last year. He did a lot of great things.....An icon that is surely missed by many children and adults alike. |

Sonifo: And children love candy bars even after they're told they're bad for them. But if that's what you want to serve for dinner....
I'll take Mr. Rogers any day! Also like most of the characters from Sesame Street, Bugs Bunny and most Warner Bros. cartoons....

Finally my camera will come in handy. Purple Fringe wizard that it is. I took about 150 pictures at a party this weekend and wouldn̢۪t ya know it, NO purple fringe to be found.
Do you think a lot of PURPLE around brightly lit objects could work as a photo in the challenge?
Ya,I doubt it to.

4.5 point average? c'mon, think higher....perhaps not just in the score alone, but IS the photo a 8 or 9 even a 10 to YOU? If the server isn't back up and running by next Sunday, guess what, you have the 3/3 chance of getting a ribbon!!! If only 3 photos have been uploaded and that is all that can be done...Congrats!! (I'm being funny) Hey, good luck and happy to know that you found your purple subject....I'm still looking and pondering....I didn't relize that purple is such a hard color to find out there besides fabrics as such....But I do have and Idea that I love, but shhhhhhhhh..... |

ahhhhh, I forgot about Capt. kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans!!! Don't laugh, but I always thought up until 5th or 6th grade that trolly was ALIVE...and talked to Mr. Rogers....until one day I got less dumb and thought, WAIT, HOLD ON, something isn't right here...Trolly's/trains don't talk to you...Why is this dude talking to a train and THEN, I saw where Mr. Rogers had the controls for that train..hmmmm, faker, I thought....total let down...and that Mr. Rogers was the voice of all those puppets...but I always wondered if that puppet that lived in the museum was a female or male? Hmmmm..... |

Check the NFL archives under Minnesota Vikings ... I don't recall any of them suffering permanent ocular damage though ... |

A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater?
Sure looks strange to me! One eye?

I think Duotones could be considered a "color" challenge too, there we all got to pick our color.
There were also challenges for Primary, Secondary, and Complementary colors. |

Ok..I'm not a member, BUT if I was..this would be my submission for the Color Purple Challenge. I would make it a little better..but this was a quick fix kind of thing. It's a picture of MY eyes..and I just "painted" them purple.

Hmmmmm....best to get real purple contacts for a photo submissions...advoid doing this with PS CE or other application as some sort. Some may concidered this as digital art and not photograghy (you have added non exsisting color to your image)...might get hammered...However, there are a few and some who will give you great comments too...just something to think about. However, if it's nicely done it would be neat to have and to share with others..in a challenge I don't think it will do good...to be honest...Why I don't, is because of "photo integrity" that a photo must have.. I do hope that you find a place here to futher your learning and have some fun....:) Here's mine version for the March Free Study Challenge. See the results..

Hate to tell ya..but my eyes are darn near that color. I am unfortunate to have violet/blue eyes. I get made fun of alot and people think they are contacts. I don't wear contacts. Anyway. I guess my picture would get rejected if I was a member and entered it. Oh well..I did even the eyes out and framed it and here is the end result.

Crystal, you have BEAUTIFUL eyes. You're not unfortunate at all (even if they're teasing you). You have a extraordinary eye color, and I would have voted the image quite high. If it were mine, I'd make sure the title said something like My Eyes -- Really! so people wouldn't think you PS'ed 'em. Of course, then you'd have the rath of those who hate titles that explain any post processing or lack of post processing. Can't win!
Anyway, I for one think you have fantastic eyes.
