Hmm.. I'm predicting a ton of flower shots and sunrise/sunset pics tweaked to appear purple. That, or normal everyday photos colorized purple for no other reason than to fit the challenge.

Now the real challenge.. to be creative and shoot something I haven't mentioned in the above.

I´ll be creative... No flower, no sunset! Sure! But, I really love to see good pics of flowers or sunsets or another subject...

10 seconds after submitting this thread, an idea occured to me but it's gonna cost me and there's no guarantee I'll get the shot I want nor will it be in the top 3.

Did a google for purple and found this :)

Let's hope many of the entries aren't

I think I have an idea...but getting from the "think" to the "submit entry" phase is the hard part! ;o)

I also have an idea... I'm aiming for DQ requests this time..
Now lets see if I can get the Image from my head inside my camera :)

I've got an idea formed. Can see the picture.
Same problem...hope I don't invest time and energy only to not be able to render the image I see in my mind's eye.

Rendering is not allowed in the new version of the advanced editing rules! :-P

And get a 4? Ha! I think I will be less creative from now on, because nobody cares for my creativity. ;-)

You don't have to appeal for the masses. You creative ideas belong to you and that's something you should never give up.

Trust me...I won't give them up...I just won't submit them.

The first idea that popped into my head was pointless and fun -- but it is also the first idea, so I do not think I will be using it.

"It's time for another color challenge. This time around, your submission should show or suggest to the viewer the color purple."

That part is going to be interesting. ;)

I think I will concentrate on that, as if the challenge was worded more along the lines of 'suggest the color purple, without actually using it'. I know it is not exactly the challenge description, but it is a subset of it.

After typing the above, I realized my first idea could be modified to fit it and become much better in the process.

I wonder how close to the brown I'll get.

I see a Black lady walking away from a shack with her belongings in her hand and the figure of a man watching as she heads away down the road.

The colour Purple - It was a movie if I remember right.

I'm not a full member yet so I cannot submit but if I was then that image would of been my submition. I just wonder how many voters would of seen or remembered that wonderful film, or would I of gotten loads of 2's and 3's as usual lol.... we shall never know.

Yah Whoopi Goldberg was in it. I had to watch that for school one year.

I think the writer of the challenge description remembered it was a movie, or the challenge would have been just named with the the color as other color-oriented challenges have been.

Those of us with red/green color-blindness do not enjoy this so much either ...

LOL...my brother is colored blind. He thinks purple is blue. I wonder what he would shoot if he was a member.

general, are you really color blind, or were you being funny?

I remember when I was a kid wondering why Crayola put so many different shades of blue in their crayon boxes. I don't think I learned that purple was a separate color until I was a teenager!

I thought colourblindness was about Red/Green and Blue/Yellow

Also good to pick one of the few colours that digital cameras (and film cameras come to that) have the hardest time representing correctly :)

Some purples are fine, others are so far out of gamut for a RGB sensor that they colour shift all over the map.
