Is it possible to use a camera here that doesn't record any EXIF data with the image? I have been having a good bit of fun with this little guy that I just picked up on Amazon for $34. Many moons ago when I used to participate here, winning images had to have the original submitted so EXIF data could validate the image as being taken during the required timeframe for the challenge.

Can you please send us an original file so we can see what it looks like?
Then we could give you a definitive answer. Looks like a nice toy!!
Send to Help/contact us/administrative - general inquiry.

It is a fun toy but you don't get any bells land whistles for $35 on a camera like this :) I sorta doubt that it could be eligible. |

Many things never change. That's one of 'em. |

And nobody went like WHAT?! Who is this guy?!
Long time no see! Find a camera that DOES have valid exit and jump back in. :-) |

| I took a quick look at the original you sent. It seems pretty thin on any exif data at all. Not enough to be valid for a challenge entry anyway. I'll let someone else take a peek as well (left the ticket open). |

Looks like the very definition of a "funk-buster," as they say. :-)
SC members could chime in here...but one way you COULD legally incorporate images from it into a challenge entry is by capturing things with it that you would specifically use as a textural overlay to something captured with a "valid" digital camera within the challenge timeframe. Like images of clouds or concrete and such. Am I right?
Just a thought...

I dunno if I'm up for DPC contests again or not :) I thought it might be fun to compete with a $34 camera but I don't think this one is gonna be legal here. I 'could' compete with it as long as I didn't finish in the top 3.. lol

Correct. Under Standard editing rules ...
You May: "use images that do not meet the source or date requirements as textures in your entry if they function specifically as textures and not to circumvent other rules." |

I don't have a "toy" camera but I like "toy" effects. Side challenges require no exif. |
