You are all lazy non-photographers and your photos suck! I can take better pictures with a rock! What were you thinking? Duh!
(Now, would you all please go view my profile and leave comments on all of my photos? Thanks!) :^)

What kind of rock are you using? I'm thinking about an upgrade. ;-) |

I hear that the translucence of sheet mica makes for excellent photos.

Not sure, but I think it's Flourite. It's damned expensive stuff too, but it has a nice red ring aound the end.

The clarity of mica is good, but I hear those lenses can be flaky. I believe the best optics are fluorite, though granite does have excellent anti-shake properties. ;-) |

It's always gneiss to find your upgrade on shale, you know...just beware of some of the schist those eBay sellers try to sell you! ;o)
OK...so it was silly and stupid, but I am in a great mood today!

Oh you poor dumb souls! Don't you know that quartz is the ONLY way to go and anything less just screams "I'm no pro!" I mean, imagine showing up to a shoot with mica!! You'd be the laughing stock ;-)
No drawl with big words, Laurie? What about when you curse?
Me? Well I make the word shit (sshhhh! don't tell anybody I used that word on the forum) a two syllable word! |

I am still having to make do with man-made synthetics. I live in shame.

I plan to use Iceland Spar so I can take multiple exposures ... and maybe joining the "Icelandic photographers" group will help my photos. :)
Also, fluorite crystals are pretty cheap, actually, at least at the rock and gem stand I pass most frequently.
It's not exactly taking a picture with a rock, but it's kinda close ... |

From the quality of these jokes you'd think we were all ... you know ... stoned.
Adobe leave it's time to go now ... (say it fast) |

OK, so we've all lost our marble, but I'm SOOOO glad this thread didn't follow its "intended" path. Can't wait for the related threads to wither out. I will say this, though... isn't it nice that the long-running Photography vs. Digital Art debate has died down? Kudos to the SC for the new Advanced Rules. You guys ROCK! |

Seems that the "what were you thinking" phrase will be an inside joke for all DPC'ers now :)

Maybe we can have t-shirts printed up with the new official DPC slogan!

I think //www.dpchallenge.com/challenge_submit.php needs an additional (required) textbox 'WWYT'. |
