Wow!
I am so happy to recieve a second place finish so soon into my
study of photography! I love this site!
I am ...."giddy".
A comment about the photo.
Word of Advice: Never take your first idea and run with it. This one was my third of fourth. Once I came up with it, it wouldn't leave me alone.
I've used my son as my model on my other challenge entries so when I approached my 17yr old daughter on this one...she was thrilled.
Then I explained the shot and she stalled.
Eventually she was full of enthusiasm stating, "This has a message!"
(I love that as a parent...watching your child "realize" for themselves"
I tried not to convey either side of the "choice". I just wanted people to realize the human side of being alone in making this decision. So many of us are willing to take up a stand on this issue never having been in a position to appreciate the situation and it's impact.
This image had to be black and white because it is a black and white choice isn't it? ....or perhaps a thousand shades of grey?
Me? I'm not choosing. I support everybody in a choice they make after examining their conscience.
Photography...a platform to speak from...hmmmm?
