Last time we had a challenge themed "Palindromes" was way back in 2012. Maybe time for another one? Could be a lot of fun.

Many view but few post. Anyway, you posted at 2AM East Coast USA time (it's 7:40 now) so not a lot of activity on this side of the pond yet :-)

I like the idea...

Yes to this, provided none of the palindromes from the previous challenge are repeated.

Edit to add: this might be a good (fun) candidate for archival.

We can't do that! That would be 88 Palindromes eliminated (barring any duplications within that challenge) including most of the easily accessible ones :-)

Well I think the fun of it is making them up. Not finding the ones already out there.

On a different but maybe related note, generally I like to shoot first and then pick pictures (and titles) for the challenges. So I hardly ever look at what's worked previously for a particular topic.
(This is one reason why I've had such a hard time with the pandemic because I haven't gone anywhere and I'm living in a very bland space, photographically. So I have not had much to work with.)

Ok then.... back to Fred's idea... palindromes anyone?

Why can't they be repeated? maybe even improved upon...isn't that exactly what happens in most repeat challenges? Even in non repeat challenges you will see many themes repeated.
If we had a rule that said in any challenge a photo of a previous theme or situation will be disqualified then DPC would have ceased to excist years ago. It is inevitable that themes or similar photographs will be repeated.
In a "TREES" challenge for instance there are photos of trees again just like in the previous "Trees" challenge..or in the "Transportation" challenge you are going to see cars and planes and trains again just like in the previous "Transportation" challenge..... in the end it's more about the photograph and how it is executed not so much about the theme......see my point?

I'm in for Palindromes!

Last one was fun.

I don't want to go through the last challenge to see if the idea I come up with was done before, though.

More an exercise in title creation than photography but WTH.

free study, great, that comes with added language creativity, not so great for non-native speakers

Who says it has to be an English palindrome?

Visual palindrome would be cool

By the way did you know:
The date today on Tuesday 22 February 2022 is both a Palindrome and a Ambigram.
The date reads the same from left to right and from right to left and upside down.

"Visual Palindrome" is just an arcane way of describing "symmetry", isn't it?
