For me, its my ef 50 1.8 II....sharp, fast and light.
Maybe things will change when I get a 70-200 f4/L |

I have two lenses, 24-70L that I use most and then there is 70-200L IS that I use when I need it :) |

I use my 35-350L, and my 50 1.8 the most... can't beat the 50 1.8 on size/perfomance/cost. |

28-135 the most... Waiting for my 50mm 1.8 so I will say that is the favorite in the wings.

My Canon 85/1.8 gets a fair amount of use (macros/sports), but I use my 75-300 a fair bit too. |

Hey Paul, how do you feel about the 85/1.8 on build quality, AF speed, overall picture quality? A couple months ago I was thinking about the 85/1.2 but decided I wouldn't use it enough to justify it, but now you got me thinking about that one because its alot cheaper... input please. :)

Build quality - Great. It's fixed, so it feels fairly weighty/chunky, and it's got always-on manual.
AF speed - It's surprising how much it makes my 75-300 USM seem SO slow. Occasionally it searches, but overall very fast.
Picture quality - On PhotoDo it gets a very high score (>= 4.0 I think) and it shows. I will happily crop to 1:1 from this lens. In fact, this is 1:1.
I too considered the 85/1.2 until I read on Fred Miranda saying the focusing is VERY slow and it's fairly soft around the edges. As I wanted it for indoor sport I decided against it almost straight away.
One thing I do rate the 85mm for is the convenience of using extension tubes for macros. Unlike the 50mm, which reduces the focus distance a lot (but gets more magnification), the 85mm gives you a more convenient working distance, at the cost of slightly poorer magnification.
Edit: PM me if you want any sample shots.

Around 80% of my photos are shot with EF 50mm f1.8 II, love that lens.
I've also got an EF 28-105mm f3.5-4.5, but hardly ever use it after I got my EOS D30 body (before I used a film body). It simply aint sharp enough for 1.6 magnification.

Since going slr digital, my general carry lense when traveling light is a Nikkor 24-85 f/2.8-4 with Lense hood and UV filter.

My 50mm f/1.4 gets the most use right now, but I just picked up an 85mm f/1.8 and am really enjoying it.
The lens I think I should use the most is my 35mm f/2. I love good work done with a standard lens, but I think it is probably the most challenging because you cannot leverage the telephoto or wide perspective to add WOW factor. When it's done right (Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastião Salgado, Helmut Newton, etc) it is amazing.

100mm f2.8 macro probably gets the most work, followed by the 70-200 f4L

Sigma 105 f 2.8 is on my camera most of the time !
Canon 20 mm f2.8 USM for wide shots is awesome !
Very sharp and wide enough for Rebel without visible distortions unlike the 16 and 17 mm ones !

Usually my 75-300 but I'm starting to have my sigma 105 on more often. If I ever get my 70-200 2.8 then I anticipate that will be the most used lens.

I have two lenses (24-70mm f/2.8 and the 28-105 f/3.5-4.5). I haven't really used the 28-105mm much so I can't really say how I like it yet. All of my pictures (taken with the 10D) that I have in my portfolio were shot with the 24-70mm and I do like it despite the size and weight.

Wow, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS, an expensive one. Are you a Paparazzi? =) At least you must be a professional? |

As of late the 100-400mm F/4.5-5.6L - but a lot of that has to do with having just recently acquired it. I use a 17-40mm F/4 quite a bit as well. |

Can anyone give me a review on Sigma 17-35 2.8 EX?
