Low Contrast

Apparently I don't know what this is. And I even researched . . . And I even thought mine was pretty good . . .

Seriously, who can point me to one of the previous Low Contrast challenges - I tried a search but couldn't get it to come up.

I think that first voter doesn't know anything, Nikki.

I'm hoping for a dark-brown result.

Tough challenge to score ...
I find myself looking for naturally low-contrast shots rather than those that seem to be adjusted in post.
I didn't enter though; too challenging ;)

I can't find it either. Sorry.

Was there supposed to be one? This challenge isn't named II...

I agree. That to me is what the challenge was about. Anyone can move the contrast slider down.

Am voting this in stages as whilst I like a good low contrast shot 61 is way too many to view in one sitting. Also, like Tate am guessing a natural low contrast setting rather than one 'done' in post is/was the way to go? That said I'll be voting with my heart rather than brain for this one.

Correct. Too many pics adjusted for low contrast which is a blessing somehow after so many challenges where the saturation and contrast seem to be paramount.
I found at first glance only about 6 images in total qualifying for low contrast - did not vote yet though. A hard challenge and not too many interesting shots independently of the topic.
My score goes down with every vote, at 5.4 presently

Oh my goodness, just crept above 5 . . .

jinx :(

...where in the description does it say the low contrast must be done in camera?
10/05/2015 11:58:03 AM · #14
"The opposite of High Contrast, and arguably harder to do well. Give it a shot!"
It doesn't say that - but it does hint at it I guess. Generally speaking, I think low-contrast can be less interesting and less dramatic - so as I'm looking at this challenge, I'm finding myself looking for someone who has used low contrast as a benefit to the image - or found something really interesting that is naturally low-contrast rather than appearing to just lower the contrast to meet the challenge. Like I said, I didn't enter because I couldn't do what I wanted in the time I had.
