So do you think titles need to be longer now that the pictures are wider?
11/04/2014 09:48:33 AM · #2
Given that thumbs are still the same size, longer titles might eat up more of the already scarce 'white space' on the home page :-(

Why can't they resize them for thumbs? My title looks so tiny. I don't like it. :)

I hardly ever read the titles.

sorry -- I don't mean to ignore them. But I'm into the photos and just forget they're there. most of the time, I end up looking at the title if I don't get the picture or don't understand it's relevancy to the topic. Then: "That's right! There's a title; maybe that will give me a clue..."

I hate having to come up with a title, as well. I really wish we could leave it blank. (Untitled strikes people as lazy. And I think it's different, actually, than leaving it blank.)

FYI, my question was meant as a joke, kind of... except that a one word title does look a bit lost under there:)

I like titles... most of the time.

I like the photographs better though, hopefully.

Most of Bear's titles take advantage of all that space :)

ha. I seem to remember Bear's wanting all titles to be the same, something like afterbath. sorry, I must have a cold.

and who made all those titular comments?

It was my hope that the recipients of the comments would understand why their images weren't doing as well as they expected. I didn't actually hammer anyone in the voting for their titles, but it was obvious it was happening from messages I was getting before I even voted. I guess it wasn't a good idea to make those comments, but I meant well :-(

Was C2K announced before or after the new size limits? Do I submit a 1200 or 800 pixel image?

Good thing I picked up on this challenge two hours ago. That gives me lots of time...not.

Actually, he was hyperventilating... A titration of 151-proof rum helped even things out...

How much time do you NEED to pick an image at random and enter it, then wait for your ribbon?

He's actually only ever taken 308 photos. He's extremely efficient.

You guys are sooo funny, but I'll take it as a compliment. :) You may be surprised what I chose to enter. Not sure how it will do. I 'm pretty rusty at this challenge business...

I wouldn't mind your level of rustiness. :)
