Some type of cheap jumper cables?
01/02/2014 01:58:47 PM · #5928
Not for cutting or jumping ... I had no idea it would be this tough. :-)

FWIW the first guess was probably the closest, but not that close ...

FWIW, I'm guessing that it's just a coating on the grip of a tool.

I simply have no idea what tool it is... Can opener maybe?

Try thinking in the opposite direction ...

Hmmm ... not the intended use, but might possibly work ...

Signal injector tip, possibly used for working on RF circuits?

I don't think this is that modern. Someone should let me know when it's time to post the answer (or offer more clues) -- I'm new at being on this side of the guessing game ...

Actually not sure what you mean -- would that be for coding those RFID chips in library books and such?

We're a week in, I'd honestly say that more clues are quite overdue.

Usually I try to post a new clue once a day at least.

Well, I really started listening to, playing, and sharing music in the 1960s, and we didn't have Napster ...

First newbie question: will this work? [answer: NO. Newbie spam block disallows me posting URLs... So until 'you' can trust me, if you want to see the image, just remove the space after the "http:" of this link...

This is similar to a pair of large pliers...

[Love this kind of game btw...]

No worries! Pretty funny in fact.

Right now we're puzzling over this object:

..

Speaking of, is this the bit you press on a record player to lever up the arm?

The the record show that this is the correct answer -- a head de-magnetizer for a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Here's a wider view:

wow. a head de-magnetizer... I was close.

Ah, blast, it had me stumped! That one's not like any demagnetizer I've run across, and I own two of them!

Cool. You stumped us for a good while. We used to do that with a small electric single pole fan motor cut in half. We also used the same item for bulk erasing tapes.
