Well we could boycott the challenge and just not enter but someone would probably enter something weird just to get a ribbon. Yes I would probably do that...

We could have a sporting agreement that ALL of us (who read this thread anyway) would insert an image of a grainy "VI" in this challenge...

Find a VI in nature, maybe. Like a secret joke.

The last time we tried something like this (a whole bunch os us in on a secret joke in a challenge) we got SO slammed for it. This was in the Product Shot challenge, where the group of us decided we would have our "product" be a catalog for an exhibition of abstract art, and each of us titled as a separate page of the catalog :-)

Anyway, so many people got SO mad at us, I never quite figured out why...

Perhaps because it was secret, and perhaps because all of the entries were arguably DNMC which is upsetting to the voter who then needs to both wear out his '1' key, and subsequently feel guilty for beating up so many people.

This time, there's no secret - and it should STILL be crafted in a way that meets the challenge. Make it grainy, AND SHOW ME A:

VVVVVV VVVVVV IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
VVVVVV VVVVVV IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
VVVVVV VVVVVV IIIIII
VVVVVV VVVVVV IIIIII
VVVVVV VVVVVV IIIIII

I've only just been made aware of that challenge and 'the big collusion'. I don't know where I was at the time but I didn't vote or comment on anything so that backs up my belief that I missed it all together. What a shame!!! I've just faved your entry Timothy. Thanks Bear, for drawing my attention to what I missed.

Yes Richard, like that. It's subtle initially, but the VI is obvious once you know that's what you are looking for!

Actually, the more I think about it the more sense it makes to seek out a "V" : the challenge title SPECIFIES "Image Grain V" right? And the FIFTH "Image Grain" challenge has already been shot, right? So the challenge here MUST be "Shoot a V with a lot of grain", right? Right...? ermmm... Jejeje

Well damnit, now you're just muddying the waters, granted, the waters already look like the Mississippi River, but..... ;)

Well, any image that has the VI on it automatically has the V in it, so... it's all good, Citizen Boehne.

This I may actually shoot for now :) And Bear, those abstract product shots were excellent, I really enjoyed seeing those.

+1
And I dare say that some of the Abstract Catalog shots were much nicer than the product shots. Finding a good VI (orV) should be fun. Hope we get a lot of people to play along

I will play. I like it. Not a secret, either.

I like the hahn23 example.

Wasn't upset by the product catalog shots.

no clues in the title.

Agreed. No clues in the title. Let's just all play the "V-Game" and see how many we can count amongst the final entries. I'll give 3 Bear Paws out for the 3 highest-scoring V's in the challenge.

ETA: Oops. I think it is supposed to be a V rather than a VI?
