I'm pretty sure 98% of DPC voters will not have confidence in their Bible knowledge to DNMC an entry. Pick the canon you want and go with it.

I think people will have every confidence in their Bible knowledge, even when they're wrong ... ;-)

In your uninformed opinion, perhaps.

...actually, I think even the good DrAchoo would might agree that there exist segments in the bible that readily meet the criteria normally associated with fairy tales.

Perhaps Mike_311is not as uninformed as you might believe... ever think of that.

Maybe. Depends what those criteria are. :) Maybe it's like Aesop's fables where the moral lesson is more important than the details of the story.

I think I used my best idea as well...

This one would be hard to equal; and it wasn't even expert editing :-)

this is exactly why I cringed when I saw this challenge. Do we really need yet another thread where all the enlightened minds of dpc argue pointlessly about the bible/religion?

AMEN! There's just no NEED to do this! You don't have to "believe" to understand that the Bible is a major source of good stories and potential related images. And I'd venture a guess that NONE of us in DPC, certainly none of us Westerners, are entirely ignorant of Bible stories and symbology, because they are pervasive. Adam & Eve, forbidden fruit, Red Sea parting, Moses and the 10 commandments, the Golden Calf, pillar of salt, loaves & fishes, last supper, calming the waters, the Good Samaritan, moneylenders at the Temple, crucifixion, resurrection, etc etc.

There's a wealth of accessible inspiration there.

I forgot I tried the Good Samaritan too! This one was a little beyond people. :)

Oh, come on. That's very unfair. As i mentioned above, Anton LaVey's 'The Satanic Bible' is obviously a bible and is as valid as any other so i don't think you should penalise. Satanists get a lot of stick as it is without you sticking the DNMC boot in. Think of their feelings.

LOL

What about "The Photoshop Bible" then too?

Egads.

Too? That's sacrilegious! Of course! You're talking about an expert editing challenge.

oh!... and guess who's going going to be in Israel starting next week!

although it'll be tough to use all the freedom available in Expert with only my iPad ;-(

anyone know what time DPC turnover occurs in that part of the world? I'd assume it's 5:00 PM

I think you've got your time zones mighty muddled :) Israel is in the same time zone that I am (as strange as that may sound), so rollover is at 7.00 am.

Wowzas that's going above and beyond the call of duty

I think you need to forget technicalities and focus on the intelligence, knowledge and artistry of this shot.

Actually, reading the last comment, all I can think of is - this is what DPC has become. Sad :(

you read your own comment and became sad, how silly.

if you are referring to me i didnt say anything about the technicalities, i was simply marvelling at his organisation, determination and motivation to put such a marvellous shot together

So, a challenge with a deadline of 12:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time, USA) has a deadline in Israel of 7:00 AM? I just subtracted the time zone difference when I should have added, I guess.

Also, what needs to be done about changing the time in the camera when moving time zones to be DPC compliant?

I love it! Jorge sent me a 16x24 of this and I have it hanging in my room.

It's fantastic. Viewing it online doesn't do it justice at all I imagine. I'd love to see a large print of it. All that detail in the tattoos and such.
