Oh, LISTEN to yourself! You're telling us that "most" democrats are only such because they want to suck off the public teat? That's like me telling you that "most" Republicans are committed to removing all government controls so they can rape the public with impunity... And "most" of the REST of the Republicans are hard-core bible-thumpers who think the planet's 6,000 years old C'mon!

in some form yes.

you are taking it to the extreme. im not saying people are actively looking for a handout, but when you promise students who are in debt student loan forgiveness, or sick people healthcare, or autoworkers a bailout, or poor propel welfare, or those nearing retirement pensions, these small little segments add up to "most".

I love how the Republican sore losers are threatening to leave the US.

The funny part is that many say they're moving to Canada, or as my Canadian friend put it, the land of "universal access to healthcare, tax dollars invested in education, healthcare and social services, legalized gay marriage and abortion and a strong emphasis on multiculturalism and tolerance." All things the Republicans rant on about as being immoral and un-American.

And look at that...the rhetoric doesn't stop. How shocking!

Time for another thread to go on the ignore list.

As if your stance isn't extreme... Of course, I'm sure you never take ANYTHING from the government, do you?

Point is there has been a slowly course to entitlement in this country and I'd like to see it start reversing sooner rather than later, get this country back to what made it great.

Yes, but Democrats actually applaud the Canadians for those things. It would have the same irony if the Democrats threatened to move to someplace like N. Korea.

I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat if they changed geographical location with Mexico! I hate cold weather.

American politics is so divisive. I really don't think the issues matter, or their speeches, or who the party even chooses. They didn't vote for Romney, they voted republican and Romney was the name next to the (R). Even saying that they "voted" is kind of a stretch, it implies a decision with at least some consideration behind it. People have their favorite brands, and for some people that brand is republican. Same for people who voted democrat.

If you lived your rhetoric, you should just stand up and say "No"...but you can't.

I figured as much.

when government promises to gives you everything there us no reason to do want anything for yourself. Not saying Romney would have fixed that but at least people would be worried the free ride wouldn't be on the way.

these are the same people who somehow elected Jessie Jackson Jr again... smh.

In the election I read about, the Republicans won congress. Here are some quotes from Donald Trump that are sure to show how congress will act towards obama in the next 4 years:

Hopefully the House of Representatives can hold our country together for four more years...stay strong and never give up!

Lets fight like hell and stop this great and disgusting injustice! The world is laughing at us.

This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy.

Our country is now in serious and unprecedented trouble...like never before.

Copied from Wikipedia

In a 2011 article, Forbes reported, "The best estimate of the cost of the 185 federal means tested welfare programs for 2010 for the federal government alone is nearly $700 billion, up a third since 2008, according to the Heritage Foundation. Counting state spending, total welfare spending for 2010 reached nearly $900 billion, up nearly one-fourth since 2008 (24.3%)".
