I could not sleep last night after a fight with my wife. In the morning my 4 years daughter said she hates me. My boss is broke and want's to sell the business. My visa in the foreign country I live expires. I am alcoholic and it's 1 pm and still didn't get my sip of vodka. My owner want's the rent and I am late 2 weeks. So what the hell. Let's see what's in there...
God what a bad dream...
What??? I did click on it??? It's not a dream?

Isn't there some way to make your name anonymous, because if there is, I just clicked the anonymous button, so now you don't know who I am or why I came here. Human nature?

| This is really funny to see how many people are willing to click on something that says, don't click here! Curiosity might have killed the cat - BUT, satisfaction brought it back!!!! |

I woke up this morning and this thread was open. Yesterday I got an email that was strange, it was from me and it said osama bin laden had been captured and all I needed to do was go to a website to see the pictures. Do you think some hacker has taken control of my computer? Well, I must go now.

I'm from the Detrot area, and I don't like any of them, to tell you the truth! But this is a classic, and it was in really fine shape! I drive a ford escort, but would rather have a VW! The irony!

If someone says to you "don't think of a pink elephant", what do you see in your mind ?
There's your answer.

...and here I was expecting another rant-thread about how poorly our images are doing in the challenges or about how most of the images in the current challenge don't fit the current challenge...
Pleasantly surprised!

I clicked here because, as the title of a thread in a forum meant for public consumption, it could only be interpreted as meaning the opposite of what it appears to state. The inherent message of *all* these thread titles is "click me, let's talk about ", so this thread *should* be a discussion of the apparent contradiction between what it says and people's behavior, or at least something to do with the title or not clicking here. That it actually *is* such a discussion amazes me, since in the majority of instances this sort of wording occurs it's usually being applied as a cheap trick to lure people into something unrelated.
There are numerous times in English where the opposite of what is meant is said, to emphasize a point or for sarcasm, for example. Words are never accurately decypherable by their literal meaning alone, but also rely on the context in which they are used to signify their true meaning.
Further, we can probably assume a secondary meaning inherent in a title worded as above: that it's the express intent of the author to tempt us by playing to our baser natures. They are dangling the thrill of 'rule breaking' in front of us, presenting the appearance of transgression without the worry of actually breaking any rules of expected behavior, much like a rollercoaster offers the thrill of 'danger' while in reality being safer than driving to work in a car. It's a powerful lure, the guilt-free indulgence of an endeavor that would normally be bad for you.
