Incubation, incubation... incubation
Incubation, incubation... incubation

One new eaglet arrived yesterday and another last night. I just watched a parent feed the one-day-old
and it was a priceless experience. Lots going on at the Decorah Eagle homestead these days. |

I don't ever seem to tune in while stuff is happening.... All I get is him/her sitting there. |

For those who haven't seen anything happening yet, here's a YouTube video of a very wobbly D12's first feeding. |

Both parents in the nest, and the babies visible right now. |

It looked like Mom was out of practice feeding the little ones. lol She was a little too far away when she offered food and the Eaglet couldn't quite reach it. Dad stepped in and took over the feeding and did a good job. |

Watching them sitting there is such a lesson in patience!! I love when they "readjust" - that fluffing/rocking motion is precious.
FINALLY caught a glimpse of the lint balls

This blog by Sherri Elliott of the Raptor Resource Project will tell you that the third egg has 'pipped' so the 3rd hatchling should emerge shortly. Sherri's blog entries are entertaining to read, and full of information.
Meanwhile, we can wait as patiently as possible for #3 eaglet to say hello! |

Hate to post again so soon, but mom is home and someone has zoomed in on the exposed kids. You can see the one in the egg moving around through a hole in the egg. Scratch that. Mom sat on the kids and the camera started wandering around. Nothing to see here!

Does anyone else find themselves with a goofy smile while watching these little eaglets grow? |
