seems Richard been askin' for a long time...where's the dead horse?

Since February 2007...similar to Richard's item #3.

#1 will never happen, though, because SC has made it clear that precedent, in DPC rulings, isn't a very strong force, since they have repeatedly told us that whether a borderline image "passes" or not often depends on which SC members comprise the quorum that actually votes on a given image. Although I used to push hard for an archive, I realize now it's probably not realistic; we're dealing with some very fuzzy, gray areas and with rulesets that have changed several times in my tenure here. The effort that would be required to keep an archive up-to-date (what passed in 2005 might not pass today, what's legal today might not have been in 2009) seems prohibitive to me.

I wonder how GeneralE feels about being called out like that.

He's a lot less fuzzy, albeit as gray as ever, since he pruned the foliage a bit...

Well, it wasn't a shave as much as a trim, and anyway he did it before November, or he has a special challenge time machine... Which he may well have, come to think...

Oh wow did I miss the boat on this one.

One thing I definitely would love to have is a Mobile version of the site.. I understand how you can't really tell the quality of the image and therefore cant vote on it.. But many times throughout the day, the mobile devices I use are sometimes better than my laptop..

The issue is largely irrelevant, since my #1 demand would be no more self-portrait challenges ... ;-)

I want to upload to this site from my phone and vote from my phone. More speed challenges.

1. A "select all" feature to delete old watched threads and PMs.
2. The ability to edit, forward, and add participants to PMs.
3. Elect Ken for president.

Seriously, editing-wise there is something for everyone right now. The fact that everyone is complaining means the mix is just right.

I forgot!!!

I'd like the ability to enter a challenge using a photo in my workshop!!!!

Too many times I've been away from home. The photo already is in my workshop, and I have to call my husband and have him upload it again, since it's on my home computer (no laptop for me)

Like when we get a comment notification via email. It would also be nice to get an email when someone faves you or your work.
The ability to fave a challenge.
In the PM system. Perhaps have the option to see all one page. Doesn't matter how long it might be. And, in the sentbox section, instead of it saying "1 user" or two or whatever, can the real nicknames be included there instead. please.

All mostly feature requests, not demands :P

Change is nice, especially for a paying site.

I'm a member of a grand total of 1 paying site on the internet. A couple 'updates' are perfectly welcome - especially those based on user feedback.

If anybody wants the rest of my opinion, I'll be in my trailer. :-)

Here are my revised demands:

1) Add cropping to Minimal editing. Nothing else, just cropping;

2) Make available to anyone who asks, the names of those who abuse their voting privileges by distributing sub-4 scores to all and sundry in any given challenge(s); and,

3) Set the scrubber to automatically scrub the votes of those who have previously voted in a challenge, but then deliberately vote down during the last 2-4 hours of voting.

I can save you all a lot of time, everyone wants exactly what I want so all change requests need to be made by me, no need to tell me what you want I already know what you need. I will be stocking Langdon to tell him what changes I recommend and schedule when they will take place. Now you can all get back to producing those ribbon worthy images!

Doing my best but not easy under current circumstances.

Don't worry, the changes will fix that

Why on earth would you want such a divisive 'all or nothing' approach? The Expert editing means we end up with tons of fantastic digital art, but it's digital art by then. Yes I do like that Minimal is pure photography, plain and simple.

Langdon, if you ever see this thread, do keep in mind that MargaretN is from the Land Down Under, where everything is topsy-turvy...*running for cover now* and please don't ever sacrifice Basic and Advanced.

HEY! I've represent that remark ;P

Seriously, as a "Down Under" representative, I totally agree with Susan (i.e. snaffles) on this one... don't touch Basic or Advanced.

1-Votes should start from 5 not from 1
2-Only ribbon winners should be able to vote
3-Phone numbers and addresses of trolls should be published

Widely varying, convoluted, unrealistic demands. Hey, this has really become very much like the real OWS movement. ...except no riots, rapes or deaths so far.

I forgot to add "petty" (small, unimportant, marginal) demands

No support from me on the last two proposals my dear friend. I truly do not need to receive emails from people frustrated with the idea that I genuinely thought their image was sub-par... and trust me there are a few of those.
