Told you. I've learned something! In addition to not entering, I learned to never work with old people. "Senior portraits" are best left to high-schoolers. Truly old people, unless they've crossed that line into "character", are, well, just old. And that's not very interesting, photographically speaking. Especially when the truly old person is, well, me. And not a portrait photographer OR a portrait photo finisher.

So I've opted to sit this one out. Y'all will do just fine. :-)

Oh, oh!!! This hits a bit close to home. But, I'm not smart enough to withdraw the "old person with not enough character" image. What I thought was courage may simply be hubris.

It is Advanced editing, you know. Evidence of age can be eliminated diminished.

I won't take no for an answer Deb! You have to do it. Don't shy away. It's just a picture. Think of it. You could photograph a glass, or a drop, but this time it's you. Big deal! Close your eyes and push the button. Bitter pill but we have to do it.

Or put a cat on your head. ETA: or a pigeon, but those can be harder to find unless you hurry outside before the sun sets on your coast.

photoshopped!!!!

I haven't seen this commented yet..but it's really going to "blow" because we are in WPL to have our "self-portraits" up for voting during WPL...many will recognize members and vote down...and to me it "blows" (no offense intended)....I predict super low scoring/voting for this challenge...have I said "YEA"...hmmm

Hey! Old people are much more interesting than overweight middle aged people. We're about as dull as you can get!

bwwwwwaaaaackkk! :P

LOL! You guys are fun! Sun is down, there aren't any pigeons, light is gone, and I simply don't have a +1 to use. A reflection only doubles your torment, folks - I'm letting you off easy! :-) Next time...

Turn on the news Deb! There are plenty of people waiting to be photographed with you. Tripod behind you, stay comfy in a chair and watch tv. Wear a hat. Heck, why didn't I do this myself? I HATE to take pics of me. Do it.

By the way, Janine, self-portrait challenges tend to score on the high side - I don't think this time will be any exception. Everyone realizes just how hard it is to do! If people are voting down due to the WPL, karma (as opposed to karmat) will get them. They'll start to wonder if it was worth it, then start watching over their shoulder.... their camera will give a strange error message... their palms will start to sweat... Soon there will be a bus that'll pass just a bit too close, and they'll regret the day they voted down someone's shot just for the sake of the WPL...

:-)

Be happy! The 3s and 4s hit you harder with a self portrait. I'd be happy to not do one ever again... :)

I got hit by two already... Yet oddly enough I am still at about 5.7...
