How about just a rodent challenge. I think every continent has rodents the size of a squirrel that could be captured (on flash card, SD etc). If not, someone will correct me. |

Comment like that make me sick.
You have no feelings for a living animal?
Comment like this should be kept to yourself. |

Just a note to Spazmo99.
State anti-cruelty acts generally protect against intentionally harming, torturing or killing an animal and animal fighting. In the United States there are three Federal laws relating to animal welfare. These laws are the Animal Welfare Act, The Twenty-Eight Hour Law of 1877, and the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act.
As fun as you think it is to shoot a squirrel for fun. It is now illegal. So Dan Selvidge in Michigan. If you don't want to get reported.
I would keep these comment to yourself.

Aren't they considered vermin in most states ?
I know in the UK most vermin are allowed to be exterminated - its why people kill or cull rats, squirrels and deer for example.
Even California lets you shoot squirrels for post control. They even have a season for just general hunting of them for sport too.

You don't get this joke yet, do you?
I've no intention of harming any animal, ever.
Also, when you say 'state', you must remember that a lot of us here at DPC, don't fall under that particular juristiction. :) |

"The only good varmint, is a dead varmint...I say." |

Isn't squirrel hunting legal? I could swear I had friends that legally did it growing up. My mind might be fuzzy though.
People need to lighten up. |

I only kill squirrels legally, when it is squirrel hunting season. There is a serious overpopulation of squirrels here. Squirrels are good eatin' too. Unless it's a varmint, I don't kill it if I'm not eatin it.
I'd be glad to ship you several thousand or excess squirrels if you'd pay for live trapping and transportation. Maybe you can open a rehab center for squirrel refugees and teach them new job skills so they can survive out in the world.
By your logic and interpretation of that law, it is also illegal to use a mousetrap as well. Is it less cruel to kill a squirrel with one shot to the head or by letting it get run over, die from a disease or starve to death? While I do kill squirrels within the laws enforced by the Michigan DNR, I do not torture them, train them to fight or otherwise abuse them.

Thank you for your explanation.
I apologize for the accusation. I just wish people treat animal a little better.
BTW I would never use a mouse trap either I would try to humanely catch it and release it away from my home. There are plenty of way to catch it with out killing it. But hey.. that̢۪s just me. |

There is a world overpopulation problem too, and plenty of humans that are pests, and yet no human pest control or human hunting season yet :(

Yes this is most unfortunate! I could think of more than a few
people that deserve to be hunted. Damn those human rights activists!:D |
